Have not maxed mine due to old board....but saying that 3.5ghz 1.45v in bios-air- on an old DS4 P965 r.1.0...can't grumble.

RLM. Impressive result you got there. So I had to give the beta drivers a go as well. Core temp log shows highest temp was 67 deg under the 3DMark06 Cpu tests. These are great chips and although not stable by any means it sure is fun to rip off a few benches at these speeds on air. Ya still kicked my A$$ by 101 points.
Nice one man. I'm sure with some tinkering you can top 15,000 . Just a thought, can you back down on memory clock and up the gpu core a bit?

    Tomati,

That's a sweet chip there man

I'm considering a gamble, trading mine in and looking for a new one. Will have a butchers for an L728A. Would love to be stable at 3.8ghz 1.5v.

1.2125 VID chip, with 1.408v after vdroop Tuniq Tower 120 would give up, 83C+ and bsod. Now with TRUE I can do a bit better (10C less than on Tuniq):

25C ambient temp, I primed before couple hours, now I just did 10 min. to make a screenshot.

Somehow disappointing, pwm flaming hot. This chip is capable of doing 3.4Ghz @ 1.29v, 60C load after vdroop stable for hours. Up to this point I have remounted TRUE 3 times using 1.5' galvanized washer and AS5, I know for a fact that those were all perfect mounts because I still get same exact temps. Before I remounted Tuniq 6 times and got different results each time. I don't know why this cpu is so hot, pulling to many amps perhaps, good thing is that I got transpiper on LP, without it I was hitting 85C on pwn. I'm looking forward buying penryn when it's released, I'm sick and tired right now with this cpu.

lol ur right man, i am in huntington beach, ca, it never hits 90's here, the hottest days stay in the upper 80's but hey the last two days almost hit 100, so yea global farming. lol.

Need_for_mhz- ur temps are probably normal, with my water setup at 3.6 i hit 69c but thats the hottest time of the day, the coldest i have seen at 3.6 is 63c, but i am running 3.5 as my 24/7 setup and i am quite happy the temps always stay under 65c. i think its very helpful to know if people are reporting temps from an open setup or in-case setup, cuz the temps could be 5-10c different.

no not really, as some over at OCAU has found out something pretty important:

    http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=603324

So, for a 24/7 "safe" overclock with a:
    - Core2 quad core CPUs have a higher throttle temperature and so should only be run no closer than 25C from the throttle point.

this was quoted in that thread (link)

I have an L723A (not one of the better weeks, according to some). It is stable at 400x9 at a very nice, low, 1.38 vcore. But, the thing won't run stable at any faster speed, no matter how much voltage I give it.

Thanks for the tip bro I will see if lower NB helps -- I've got it at 1.4 currently.

    Hi there!

Yesterday recieved my new processor, a Q6600 L723A963.

Max FSB validated with aircooling with an ASUS BLITZ FORMULA (My ABIT IP35 Pro is a turd and doesn't let me go over 472MHz):

Then I tried 487MHz but the computer froze up. I'm pretty sure it can validate at 485MHz FSB.

    Maximum speed validation (air):

Having fun with Cordovader's crossfire and my CPU at 4GHz:

    Superpi 1M @ 4GHz 2/ 1.52v load (1.54v IDLE) w/ ABIT IP35 Pro:

    WPrime 32M @ 4050MHz w/ABIT IP35 Pro:

    http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=642956

Next week I'll recieve one of Kingpin's F1 LN2 pot. Hope to have a good time with LN2 and this CPU

    :p

Using my nvidia 680i BFG P30 bios... I can only boot in windows if in stock everything..

I was using previously a C2D @3.8GHz with the fuzion and using vista x64.

Normally would run @ 3.6 @ 1.35v to be safe.. Ideas on why I can't overclock like i did before?
