another random question: a single service of XWD be able to manage 2x and 4x installs of D2OL on the same rig, or do you need one service for each instance of D2OL? I'm thinking one should be able to handle everything, but i wanna make sure.

1 XWD installer will monitor single, 2X, and 4X services if they were created with my installers.

What if they weren't?

I'm asking for a friend(im way too poor to afford dual-core goodness ), but I'm not exactly sure how he went about installing both instances.

Have him check the "services" section in the management console to see if the names are XS_D2OL1, XS_D2OL2, XS_D2OL3, or XS_D2OL4.

I'm pretty sure they have to have them names... maybe the Xtreme creator can validate this. ???

Yeah IIRC dem's da service names.

Hey can anyone tell if/how I would put the services for d2olprogress in the config to get them knocked down to lower priority?

(Last services in teh list (@ bottom )

Add "JAVA=IDLE" to the processes section of the settings.ini
Code:
##---------------PRIORITIES---------------##
#  NORMAL,IDLE,BELOWNORMAL,ABOVENORMAL,HIGH
##----------------------------------------##

[General]
INTERVAL=5

[PROCESSES]
DOCKWIN=IDLE
GridWin=IDLE
D2OL=IDLE
JAVA=IDLE

[SERVICES]
CHECK=TRUE
ATTEMPTS=15

The feature to set the process/thread priorities to low will work for both a regular install of D2OL or if D2OL is installed as a service. Also it doesn't matter how many instances are running it will set them all to low.

The feature to restart the services when dockwin.exe or gridwin.exe crash depends on the names used in Rod's installer, XS_D2OLX, for both the service name and the base folder the exes are located in. Also again one instance of XWD will monitor all instances of D2OL.

That could be a problem... Since our team-page (set up by Rodzilla) has been offline for a long time now, I've been searching for the installers myself... I lost mine when the USBstick they were on got corrupted

I have been able to obtain some older installers from Jeff (big thanks to him) but those do not include the Xtreme Watchdog but the older D²OLDaddy stuff, which isn't half as good as the Watchdog.

I sent a PM to Helheim a few days ago to ask him if by any chance he still had the original Rodzilla installers with the Watchdog included, but haven't received an answer yet... I'll try to contact him again

You sure the site is down? Everytime I click on this thread I get a box requesting a username and pw for Rod's site... Something is working.

I'm getting the login box as well. In fact it kinda got me paranoid so I went and changed my PW...
