Well I can't drive it yet as I'm to young, but a 1987 Ford Ranger XLT w/2.9V6 and a 4 speed manual tranny w/OD, possibly blown clutch, leaking brake booster, and the engine runs like garbage. Plan to have it working fine by the end of the year tho

07 mazda 3 i sport sedan. Rolling on some pimp azz 15s driven by a super powerful 2.0L 148hp 4 banger with a 4 speed slotomatic transmission with -shift (aka "tiptronic" or whatever the mazda variant is)

At least it's not a civic DX or corolla like my parents tried to get me

Whatever you do, don't get a REALLY NICE car for your FIRST car .. I think your parents made a very wise choice .. I've seen worst :P. Nice car though!

I got a pretty nice car for my first ... 2001 3.2TL .. I wasn't responsible with it at all .. constantly speeding ... I was too confident with it.

Other than that, I didn't get into any accidents / speeding tickets. The the car was well taken care of in terms of maintenance.

so what did they do?

They got me a car that has awful side impact ratings, no side airbags, and no ABS. Not such a wise choice in my opinion. Buy me something MORE dangerous KNOWING that I will sell it as soon as I possibly can.

5 speed manual is essential if you have any idea what the phrase "spirited driving" means. How can you corner effectively if you can't drop it into 2nd?

No abs? All Mazda 3's that are sold here have abs on standard. About the safety, I think that car is much more safer compared to some 10 years older car (bigger or smaller). I wouldn't have complained if my parents had bought me a brand new car...

I'm not complaining, having a new car is awesome! But that's about it. It just pisses me off to know I could have had a car I actually wanted, that is better in every aspect aside from being used, for less money Now if it were 5 speed I'd love the car to death, but it's not. This is like having a nice computer built on an INTEL OEM motherboard that's BIOS locked.

I'll double check tomorrow, but the i sport model has ABS as OPTIONAL here in America and the only things I remember under the options was AC and all weather floor mats.

You caneasily work an automatic, and if you know how to use it, an automatic is actually faster for lap times. Stop complaining. Your parents got you a car. That's better than those with no car.

i have a 2003 vw passat tdi and usually a fast car for the weekends but injured my back a year ago and im still recovering so havent owned a quick vehicle since then =[
