Well, now that I've started priming at 3.51GHz and 1.4375v(BIOS)/1.125v(CPUz) they'll both crap out at roughly two hours. Sometimes a little under two, sometimes a bit over. definitely not stable enough for me either way. Good thing is that it'll run the F@H SMP client just fine. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get this chip up to 3.6 on air, but it might be a little hot. When I finally get my water setup going, who knows.

Eagle you need a stronger pump. I believe the TR waterblock is pretty restricitive, if I remember correctly. On top of that you have two radiators. Those temps for that speed isn't right.

    Another G0 at 3.6 ghz-prime95 stable

What is amazing is how sensitive the temps are to ambient. One benchmark done at 84 deg F and then turned on the A/C to lower temp to 70deg F. Drops the temps precipitously. Also, lapping the CPU drops 5 deg on load.

i would change out your mobo...if your processor is a "G0", it is most likely the mobo that is holding you back.

    I just bought 2 SLACR
    L725a902' MicroCenter Cincinnati
They had new shipment. Box of 5. 3 left for sure. They are behind counter, not in cabinet. Make sure you ask. I hope these clock well...

Any advice for XBX2 and 965S Dark?

    TIA...

It looks like to get the max out of your quad you will want a P35 or a 680i chipset. This is strictly based off of what i have seen posted. Nothing hands on as i'm using a P965.

I will only be using Air coolers (Zalman 9700) or (Tuniq 120).
The XBX2 are for resale. Long term stability is VERY important.
The 965S is my personal. Currently running e4300 @ 3.5 othos 8+ hours stable.

    Additional advice appreciated.

    L723A648 q6600 go
This is stable overclock. Can not pass orthos any higher then 3800mhz with any voltage. I think its my p5k deluxe that is holding me back. My x6800 will not run 4gig on this mobo but has no trouble with my P5wdh or my P5b. Vcore 1.58, vid 1.2375. This cpu has a 505 max stable fsb on this mobo. I find it very hard to believe that anybody on water cooling is running a q6600 go at 4gig truly stable. Im on chilled water 10c. My system is finding it hard to handle temps at 1.58 vcore. Im getting up to 66c at full load so i can imagine how hot regular water cooling system must get. Or maybe i just got a crappy hot chip?

Ace, you think youre 4.2ghz q6600 is due to using only 2 sticks of ddr2? If you added another 2, it might be unstable? I'm thinking my chip has a shot at 4.0 ghz ( if I play with the settings, @ 3.8ghz now) but is being held back by 4 sticks. Sounds logical?

That is not necessarily true. My first 2 L723A's wouldn't do 3.2 stable. Only 2 out of the 5 i've had were good clockers. And still those 2 aren't as nice as yours. I tried chips on 680i and P5K Premium.

I'm thinking of ordering a couple more tuesday. Anybody know if newegg is still shipping B3's? I'd think they would be out by now.

EDIT The egg is still shipping some B3's according to comments. Just ordered a L726A from Tankguys.

no, i am not anymore. ...actually, i was just upset because i wanted to send my B3 Q6600 and Tuniq 120 to "Spawne32" right away to test in his mega marathon heatsink roundup...so...i ordered this "G0" from TG's hoping to get it very quickly...once TG had that bad shipment, i thought there would be a huge delay in getting the B3 to Spawne32...time was critcal for Spawne32 since he had another commitment after the labor day weekend.

without a Quad, his tests results would not have creditable relevance since we all know dual core heat output does not even come close to heat output of a Quad core!

Spawne32 will post the results very soon...i believe by next week.

i would buy again from TG's if he would sell to me...LOL

i was under the impression that quad cores had a difficult time even getting close to 3600 mhz on the EVGA...i think it is more to do with the architecture of the board...and...each board of the same make has its own individual characteristics as to giving you good success with overclocking.
