Just taken the 40mm fan of my PWM heatsink and wedged in an 80mm fan over that area instead. Temps have dropped by 10c. Not sure if that's just because of more power or that cooling areas just around the PWMs makes a significant difference.

As Goone pointed out though, read back over previous posts. Removing the heatpipe, cleaning off the gunk and applying decent paste helps. You can also follow Ace'a'rues tip and remove the white plastic clips, and replace the heatpipe with nuts and bolts instead.

I started using one piece of memory in all slots. It only boots in slot 1 and 3 and gets C1 error in 2 and 4 even after a cmos clear. I have a feeling my motherboard is defective. My downloads rarely work and it sucks. I am just tired. I have been working on this for 4 days just trying to get it to work but I guess I will have to give up.

    sorry i missed this post.

yes, i got the 8.7 error on Sunday.

let me tell you... it took about 2 hours but I finally recovered from it.

i assume that when you hit the power button all that happens is the debug code reads 8.7 and stays there... it tries to do like a power cycle where it shuts off for a split second then comes right back on... is this what yours does?

i finally fixed this by pulling the battery and letting it sit for about 30 minutes.

after that, when i tried to reboot, i got C5! then i kept playing with my mem until i got the C1 error... and then it booted up and it's up and running again.

4g's is far more difficult to overclock...you might also have bad dimm slots...this defect does happen on boards...like one guy explained; it is the luck of the draw.

    I had the same problem.

My GSkills, only 1 stick, booted in the last slot, then I set 2.1v, then stuck in the 2nd stick, in slot 2, and booted up.

Flashed to BIOS 11, and its all fine now, boots after clearing CMOS also, in any slot, any amount of Sticks. BIOS 10, sucks. Period =X.

Errr how so? I can still go with an updated NV later on, don't you think?

Besides I bet it will work, just like SLI works in P35 - unofficial but it works, doesn't it?

However I'm still eager to hear about IP35 vs IP35 Pro...

The SLI support is the only reason to buy a nvidia chipset board instead p35-965-975, give it to intel would be a commercial suicide .
Yeah sure, just like P35 isn't SLI...

Power it down, yank all DIMMs and the CMOS battery.
Disconnect the power from the back of your PSU.
Power the system back on. You may see some fans whir-up and some lights pop on for a split second, thanks to any remaining power in the caps.

Put in ONE memory DIMM and pop the CMOS battery back in (also, make sure that you have the little switch on the back of the board by the PS/2 ports in the proper position), plug the power back into your PSU and try it again.

    Good luck!

    Yes.
Well, then I have to tell you the truth, I don't give a damn about SLI cticker, you know.
If it works, it works, if it isn't then isn't - couldn't care less about stickers or any other 'bling' on a mobo...
