you said put 40mm , what just punch some bolts through the fins? I had servo tape holding one on the NB for about a week but it came loose

and yeah SB is a no go with a 8800 on this board, unless you could find some ultra low profile HSF set up

here is how i put the fans in...i used 2 plastic ties to anchor the fan over the mosfet area....you can see the white ties, trimmed, adjacent to the heat sink fins.
