Thread: Quadzilla Qx6850@ln2

    Quadzilla Qx6850@ln2

QX6850 is the real deal, been getting some really nasty clocks during some F1cpu unit testing for fully loaded quad in 3DMARK 2006. Card(s) at defaults on both P5k and striker. Just showing off some massive cpu power courtesy of these new chips!

    Setup:
    QX6700 and QX6850 Dragon F1 LN2 Cooled / P5K PREMIUM
    CORSAIR Dominator 10000C5
    SINGLE 8800 ULTRA def clocked
    SILVERSTONE 850W PSU

First off my QX6700 is pretty nice clocker to begin with on the P5k, so the QX6850 has a hard act to follow. This took about 1.75v/-125c on the F1 to fly. Can run the unit nearly completely empty with quad fully loaded over 5050mhz.
Got within striking distance of Victor Wangs excellent QX6800 result:

Now for QX6850 on P5K Premium, except now I am at approx 1.7v/-112c . Cranking the FSB/MEM alot harder here. Sick CPU score for the mhz:

Bump to 11x to see where the chip goes and.....8262 CPU score :

    COMPARE URL

Looking to go over 5250mhz for 2006 with this chip.

So yah it clocks awsome on P35 like every other chip out there blah blah, but how about 680i? How about 8k+ CPU score in SLI at 5134mhz lol :

This is with weak mem speed too so it can pull more per mhz
I think ULTRA benching just got a nice boost in CPU power with these new chips finally. Working on doing some sub zero with gpu's/ at single stage temps to start around 900mhz/1180mhz, then just work the clocks up on the cards as best I can.

Quadzilla is right. But let's not forget about that P5K Prem kickin' ass...510MHz FSB, 611MHz mem...if that ain't quad heaven I dunno what is.

Did some 3 unit stuff today and it was very difficult even with really low card clocks. Going to be tough. Gradual work up for sure. at 5092mhz/ with 890-1180 and low shaders on the cards 25.6-25.7k. Pretty nice for the conservative gpu clocks and running sync. Tested this chip at 12x 5100mhz + with over 600mhz on the memory cas4 and worked great, though I had some posting issues that kept me from testing with memory where I really wanted to run it so sync was easier.

    damn man

didn't realise you had a tumble eek

Unfortunately, I am painfully sitting here and typing this with a arm/wrist brace on

as I slammed very hard early this week and re-broke my left wrist . I've bro-

ken both wrists multiple times over many years skateboarding and snowboarding.

Benching three LN2 units at once would be pretty difficult currently, so could

be some time before I get back into some heavy overclocking again.

Really needed the "break" anyways .

Disable two cores on the Nvidia and go nuts, it seems that dropping core one and three woked best for me, using zero and two I was able to pass a 32M at 4.8Ghz with my single stage. this would be good for 3D tests other than 06

It might be able to pass up your core duo top speed.

5.2 jeez and you've only just started...

Sucks about the wrist I was wondering how you were letting people get ahead of you. Did you break it skating or did you just fall and get unlucky?

It's really great to see you back in action Vince - 3DMark is in fact a nice physiotherapy

    That's really promising results

Seems my retail QX6850 never arrives can't wait for some 3DMark gamming with that ..welll for the 2nd league, because now you and Hipro5 and Kinc are really in another league

Thank you to share that information Charles, that's the true spirit of XS Legends - knowledge sharing

That may be quite nice for my QX6850 (when it arrives, because here still is almost impossible to get one ), specially in my mini-cascade, because may put less heat on load

Looking great a usual Vince. Glad to see things haven't changed much since I was here so many moons ago. Ouch though on the broken wrist. The pain should be a lot better in a couple of weeks or sooner.

You can send me your QX6700 now if you want, you don't really need to anymore! On a serious note though, excellent clocking and best of luck getting number 1 back!
