I'm assuming to want to replace a deflective fan unit and not eliminate the fan.
It's not too hard, but you'll probably need to pull the top of the case off. There are 6 split-pins and two screws holding it on. 4 of the split-pins and the screws are easily reaching from inside the case. The two front pins are a little harder because they are above the drive bays. A long flat-head, screw driver can reach them. You may also have to remove the plastic trim around the drive bay to remove the top.
If you do remove the top fan housing, do yourself a favor and drill two hole directly below the front pins, so the next time you can get at the pins more easily from inside the drive bays.
