there is no socket F+, opteron will get a new soket in 2009 with bulldozer

only a month to go and we know very little performance wise cant wait for someone to get hold of these. so i can go ahead and build something

AFAIK Crysis is out in november i will have a new pc for it i just hope that amd comes to play in time

Barcelona launched at 10.9 will be ONLY server chip at 2GHz ... who wants this slowly toy? For desktop, Phenoms for normal use we will wait 2-3 months, for sure to Q1/08!

I talked with my AMD source today, and he told me : first platform whats you get for testing will be dual FX mobo with RD790 chipset ..., nothing before ... no server mobo + Opteron with Barcelona core ... first CPUs for Reviews will be Wahoo mobo with two FX Phenoms late in October ...

Who knows? But it is not good deal, use K10 on old chipset, performance will be worst then on RD790 ... because new chipset has HT 3.0.

November 16th to be exact. Unless you're in Austrailia, then it's November 15th.

unless HT 3.0 is like AGP 8x->PCI-e x16. if the bus is already bigger than it needs to be there'll be no performance improvement from making it wider. if the memory controller was on the northbridge then a wider HT link would be great, but i doubt it'll make a difference on single processor systems. the only thing i'd worry about is whether the split power planes on AM2+ boards vs the single power plane on AM2 will have any effect on overclocking

Biostar has already released a AM2+ motherboard some time ago

just found it on the piostar page, it seems to be a HT1 board with split power planes:
t-force 560 A2+

HT1 with regular pwm, i don't get it.
