how do the mc30's mount on the evga board (ie are they solid mounts or somewhat loose), also what are you doing about the mosfets (ie using a mosfet block, or heatsink or leaving them bare?)
Also for the evga which exact model is it (they have a bunch, a1/t1, also nf63/67/68...)?

I have one MCW-30 hardmounted and one mounted from the rear of the board. You have to have the Video Card WC'ed to fit a block on the SB or it wont clear.

As far as my mosfets I have a 120mm pointed at them (about 9 inches away) and I replaced the garbage TIM with ASC on the sinks.

The model of 680i I have is a A1 with the 590 SB. Dunno if the SB really matters but we wont know untill everyone chimes in with results.

thanks. I do plan on watercooling my gpu (probably with a full cover block) but not until my next upgrade (probably g92). Would there be any issue with using the gpu in the bottom x16 slot until then? Or do you have another recommendation for a hsf for the southbridge that will work with a gpu in the top slot?

I think you are fine running it in the bottom slot. The board is dual x16 so you dont go x8 in the bottom slot. To be honest I dont know if you really gain any OC from WC'ing the SB.

Perhaps just a HS/Fan such as an Evercool would suffice and allow you to WC the NB. I just had the seconf MCW-30 laying around and temps arent a big factor for me as I am running dual loop. The only temps i get real picky about are my CPU temps. I mean my GTX will run out of voltage before temps hold back the OC.

    Just my opinion.

Edit: Sorry jkresh, I should mention that you might clear fine with your 7800GTX. I should have noticed that. Only 8800 series cards and most likely HD2900's wont fit. Perhaps someone will chime in and confirm that a 7800 GTX will allow clearance.

Thanks buddy, cant wait to see what you can do with your TEC and a G0

Chip is priming for about an hour now @ 4Ghz. It is about 15c outside so I opened all the doors and windows Should get a clean run. I just wish the droop on this board wasnt as bad as my nutsak on a 38C day

I mean C'mon that is terrible. I have to set 1.6875 to get 1.64 in windows and then 1.57-1.58 under load. Pretty weak. I know that the C2Q is a bit of a pig when OC'ed but honestly...

I can do anything I want with my batch at about 1.56-57Vcore. I run out of FSB on this 680i and the droop is scary. I hate that kind of juice running through my chip just to get it going normal voltage under load.

Your chip will fly with the P35

Haven't primed it yet, but been stable running games and watching movies. 1.45V set in BIOS. Memory running at 500mhz 5:4 with the FSB. Tuniq Tower cooling. That's my 56" Samsung DLP that I just took back for the Samsung 46" LCD. Should be here tomorrow. Had at 3.2ghz the past week at 1.4V set in BIOS. Gonna see how much further I can go.

the droop ain't that much better on the IP35 sorry to tell you.

people are reporting droop between 0.02 to 0.08. mine was on the high side at 0.08. fortunately there is a droop mod which seems to have fixed my problem (and others).

I just picked up a L724A. Takes 1.6v bios 1.54 windows 1.50 loaded for semi stable 3600mhz on evga 680i w/ water. Load temps high 60's to low 70's. Mine isn't doing as i wanted. I have 2 more on the way though. Maybe my luck will change.

It's an achievement anyway, my friend, but this is not small FFTs, this is blend -> your are stressing the RAM, not really your CPU...

My quad passes blend, when the cpu doesn't have enough voltage to complete SuperPi 32M

Could be the board. My conroes run great on it though. Turtle is using the same board, he's at 4ghz with same G0 CPU and same batch. I did order a p5k premium overnight. I'll know tomorrow.
