    OCZ PC3-14400 Platinum Series 1800Mhz DDR3

    System Configuration;

    Intel QX6850 ES
    Asus P5K3-D
    OCZ DDR3 1800 Platinum Series
    Enermax Galaxy 1000w
    Vapochill LS -44c
    EVGA 8800 Ultra
    8K BTU blast AC

In my benches I am pushing on the edge with excessive cooling. Voltages are for benching only, extended use is not recommended. I pushed to the maximum of 2.25v allowed in bios for all benches below.

DDR3 is here and with the next generation DDR3 platforms approaching fast, most of you will all be wondering the same thing. What is the best DDR3? As of right now I have sampled many of the flavors offered with little reason to push when I had a superior DDR2 part until now.

The latest DDR3 part by OCZ are Micron Z9 binned at 1800Mhz, they are very flexable in timing. I could adjust from 5-3-3-15-1t @ 1Ghz to 7-7-7-15-2t just under 2Ghz these are a dream to work with when testing all settings for that extra bit of performance.

I use an 8K BTU AC unit to chill the case, excessive cooling is used when pushing for world record results.

I played around with 1T, I couldn't beat my max speed benches so I didn't a battery of tests with this setting.

With the QX6850 quad core processor bus limits I am able to reach the rated speed of the memory pretty easy. I should be able to hit a much higher bus speed once I switch over to a dual core CPU.

    Yes, 4.8Ghz on the Vapo

I plan on revisiting Sandra with dual core.

    4.7Ghz 766/1254

DDR3 has major potential with less voltage. As advertised, the product delivers at the rated speed with ease and exceeds expectations with every new speed and timing combination discovered.

The Asus P5K3-D has the ability to change the FSB strap from 333 to the lower 266 and 200 options. I did test at 266 but I found that having the ability to run at higher Mhz defeated the option of the tighter bus strap.

    Many thanks OCZ

OCZ has done it again with this build of Z9 memory.

Nice FUGGER.. have you tried Everest Ultimate 4.10.1076 beta ? more comparable in terms of results

Been playing with X6800/E6750 and now E6600 trying to find a cpu with higher FSB headroom.. but out of lucky

Limited to 485FSB but OCZ PC3-14400 Platinum @DDR3-1940Mhz 8-8-8-27 at 2.12v vdimm is pretty nice

Different manufactures may setup the PCB differently but the Z9 modules should all have the same characteristics.

George, working on getting a license. I didnt mean to run an old version, its what I had loaded on that drive.

Played around quite a bit more with 1T and tight timings, couldn't get better numbers than my top ones posted.

I dropped in a E6750 and it maxed out at 485FSB, going for 490 locks it up. I can hit 495 with only NB and ram voltage bumps. My evap temp is -52c

Ill swap out again for a E6420 or E6320 and push for 500+ FSB action.
