Burner, yes you must set the voltage, timings, and ratio correctly yourself. "0" is 1.8v, so +1 is 1.9v, +2 is 2.0v, etc. You will need to hit Ctrl-f1 at the main BIOS screen to display all the features. The memory multiplier, RAM timings, and RAM voltage are all on the same page. If you installed windows with the system that unstable you should consider the install a total loss and simply reinstall over again after making sure the RAM is configured correctly. You can boot into Memtest+ 1.7v to test your RAM's stability as well.
Ashm, sounds like it still might be an OS issue there... make sure you don't have a Readyboost device in the computer when you resume from standy if using Vista, it tends to slow down or crash it. I either hibernate or turn off my system, I don't use standby at all and never will anymore.
