I honestly got a sudden urge to drink a sprite. Is this that "Sublymonal Advertising" they've been going on about?

Well, it it not as bad as it looks. Heatpipes are working really good, unless they are used up-side-down. With thermal paste around the pipe to fill the gaps when screwed together, it should be working ok. But the position of the cooling fins behind the hottest air that comes out of the case is not that great of an idea if you ask me.

I'm surprised you guys think they're green...look at the case and heatpipes, the color as been changed picture wise (hue to be specific), everything has a green tint lol.

Interesting about the heatpipes, too bad not everyone has a PSU in that position.

Whatever, if it clocks well at a competitive price, we'll use it.

(oh, and the Teaming LAN function sounds really interesting, but I wonder if both boards need to support it?)

Knowing DFI...

1. Board is announced.
2. Coolaler/Tony/WWM will do wicked things with it. (1-2 weeks)
3. Board will trickle into market. (2-4 weeks)
4. 7000 bioses will be released. (1 week - 1 year+)

I'm gonna take a stab and say ~1 month. Earlier is a blessing.

Hope someone is quick to show a review with this board plus a Q6600.

1. Victor Wang has said this board will be out by the end of July.

2. The heatpipe can be installed in 3 different positions. You only see 1 in those pictures.

Sorry that doesn't help much. If I had to guess, I'd say around $220.

Inf is supposed to come out at some point for "140-160", and will probably take over the p965 DARK's spot in pricing.

As for X38...It's supposed to be 16/16/4, (high-end SLI/Xfire plus physics) but I wouldn't be surprised if we see some special variants able to do 8/8/8. It's pci-e 2.0 after all...You'd think cards would run fine in an 8x slot if they are compliant.

Finally an official announcement. I would like to see these over the next couple of weeks too but I doubt it.

The heatpipe idea is nice but most users with larger cases have their psus on the bottom the case. Can the heatpipe be turned around so the fits face downwards if that is the case? I wonder if the heatpipes will be worth it at all. Would removing them and putting something else on each chipset be worth it? Would an HR-05/MCX-159 fit alright without interfering with anything else?

since a long time DFI releases their boars after all other brands

It uses a copper-made pipe to connect independent heat sinks of SB, NB and PWM together. Then, there will be an extension joint (Transpiper) to carry the heat out from the chassis. The Transpiper can be extended to where outside the PSU fan. That means the air flow from the PSU fan will be help to carry out the heat from Transpiper. Otherwise, the heat air flow will be stuck inside the chassis and that will jeopardize the stability of the system. This is a magnificent breakthrough of heat pipe assembly design.

why lately? they've always been late. They released the first nf2 and nf4 mobos long after it's debut, but at least they were quality. DFI, take your time

we weren't progressing as fast with nf2, nf4 platforms anyway.

Their nf2 board lateness I would put it down to developing / designing nf7 then ultra-b

I think the heatpipe design is ridiculous IMHO, how much heat can be transfered through plates you screw together in series like they have set up? Give me their 680i cooling solution any day of the week over this

I like it, its minimal. And if every heatpipe is removable then this setup is a GODSEND for people that want to use HR-05's and watercooling without having to chop heatpipes and void warranty.

There was a gigabyte or Asus roller coaster heat pipe board around. That would have to be the most ridiculous and ugliest.
