I would go look through the air cooling section. Look for the infinity mod section. Thats what I used and it works great.

Is there any way that this mod (or similar) can also be done on the Scythe Mine Rev B?
If you still need help. I did it and its fairly simple to do except that it does take some dexterity to get under the fins to mount the knurled nut.
all you need is to go down to ACE HARDWARE and buy:
4 x 1 1/4" screws with 6/32 threads. I actually used 1 1/2" but had to cut them down a little.
4 knurled nuts with same threads.
4 x 3/4" compression springs. 1" may work fine but any longer and they may need to be compressed a little to start threading the nut on the screw which can be hard dexterity wise.
12 x 1/4" metal washers
4 x 1/4" nylon or fibre washers for keeping the screw heads away from components on the bottom of the board.
This all cost me about $3.50
You'll need a screwdriver and an appropriate sized needle nose pliers or something to hold the knurled nut. You'll need these at the end of the operation. A regular pliers will probably work fine. I did not have a backplate so the instructions do not relfect one. Personally I would recomment using one. If you get one or already have one then you know where it goes and again, my instructions dont reflect it.
assuming the CPU is already in the board.
1. Tear the plastic push pins off the HS
2. place 1 metal washer followed by one nylon washer on each screw
3. Run the 4 screws up through the bottom of the MB so the nylon washer is against the bottom of the motherboard. Make sure screw head sre not touching any components.
4. lay motherboard on a table (near edge of table) so that the screws are up.
5. Slide the ninja down over the screws and set down on the CPU (Dont forget the thermal paste).
6. Onto each of the 4 screws place 1 metal washer, followed by one compression spring, then followed by another metal washer.
7. slide the board carefully over the edge of the table so that one single screw head is exposed under the board and hold it up with your screwdriver.
8. take a knurled nut with your needle nose pliers and hold it over the screw, use the screwdriver to twist the screw, threading it into the nut. just enough to hold it.
9. Repeat this process 3 more times so that all 4 nuts are on.
10. Now, using your screw driver and pliers, alternate from corner to opposite corner and tighten the nuts, only a couple threads at a time, so so that you tighten all 4 nuts, the entire assembly evenly until you see a slight warp appear in the edge of the board. At this point tightening any further will only warp the board more and not get the thing any tighter. If your smart enough to have used a backplate the board shouldnt warp so dont overtighten.

You can see the slight warp in the board.
I did this mod after lapping my HS and CPU to 600 grit and between the two I get a 8C drop in load temp immediately.

Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. My eldest is some sort of CSGO champion gold label something or other. Me I work and shoot real guns. Build Comps as needed.
I used 3/4" long screws with rubber washers throughout. I eliminated the springs as it was hard to find a good sturdy one, and I found they are not necessary if you use rubber washers. You can crank down on them and compress them without damaging the MB. The 1 1/4" long screws are too long to find under the fans. There is no room to manuever and they are unnecessary if you use the rubber washers.
There is always a better way!

haha, thought this was perfect till you showed the warped motherboard. Doesn't look that bad. Where could I get my hands on a backplate and for about how much?
I ended up purchasing a Coolermaster GeminII, so I can finally mess around with this heatsink and really start modding it without fear of messing it up.![]()
