i ggogled to find a changelog if possible and all the links for bios 0501 for asus come back for a p5k3. maybe they are wrong but i'm more inclined to think asus's ftp server is wrong. anyway look at softpedia's page.

The 0501 BIOS for P5K Deluxe listed on their ftp was posted just a few minutes ago. How could links from anything else apply?

    Softpedia Date: June 26th, 2007 08:52
    Asus ftp: 07/09/2007 11:56AM

Seems pretty obvious they are unrelated. I have been checking Asus ftp daily for this.

chaos seems to be saying it works too so i don't know. i was just looking for a changelog and when i googled it several links popped up all saying p5k3. why would asus give 2 different bios's the same number? if it borks up boards they would be hosed. afaik these boards use different bios's since one is ddr3 and the other ddr2. i just noticed the discrepancy and wanted to point it out in case it is the wrong file.

Mmmmm I havent even played around with it yet

EDIT: Preliminary bench with same settings I used before had lower latency on memory, and the bandwidth was a bit better at same settings.

works fine on my board, but no improvement in overclocking.
    actually... no noticable difference anywhere.

I just flashed to 0501, now the PC hangs, damn. Gonna try reset/power off.

Edit: Its ok now, showed bad cmos, flashed it again, working now. After a quick check through the menus, i couldnt find any new features/settings tho.

Its simple, if it was wrong and for the P5K3 and you flashed you P5K Deluxe with it and knackered your board, you simply put the CD you got with your board in and recover the first born bios from the CD.

Happens with my VGA as well. That's what's keeping me from installing the 0501 bios right now!
