& yet I miss uGuru whenever I use a board without it - it's imo the best hardware monitoring/fan control solution from any mobo mfr & the user presets are nice for quickly switching been e.g. an underclocked & quiet browsing setup, an overclocked & somewhat noisier gaming profile etc. etc.
Not to mention of course that not all abit mobos have it or that some of the Linux guys reverse engineered it.

And what is the best and cheapest? Giga p35-s3, Asus p5k vanilla or Abit ip35? Or something else?
The poll data only shows who bought what, brand loyalty, no big deal. All I can get out of this thread is that they're probably all good. How about some comparison data that tests each board with the same components?
I read about twenty threads stroking the DFI Dark before it came out and it turned out to be a noisy POS. Even if that thing farted clouds of mustard gas the fanboys would have denied it.

Is there any p35 board that supports 2 x8 pci-e for crossfire? All the ones i've seen are 1 x16 and 1 x4![]()
Here in the UK the cheapest P35 that I've seen is the IP35-E with the S3 a few pounds dearer, P5K is noticeably dearer.
Only thing "wrong" with the IP35-E appears to be this double boot behaviour which I'm currently trying to find out why that does it & yet the Pro doesn't seem to![]()

Though I was looking for the same but I realized it doesn't worth jackwith X38 coming in 1-2 months...
Also early reports weren't so fab of that Crosslinx chip, it doesn't deliver (yet) also what difference do peeps expect when all board manufacturers use the same chipsets, it's only in the (bios)tweaking, overclocking department that some differences matter in picking a board... same results as when they did a comparison of the 965 and 680i chipsets, there's never a clear winner...
Everybody likes his brand, colours, layout, gimmicks and choices are not solely based on performance, any of these boards deliver to get your cpu up to insane speeds, it's the bios, tech support that counts when some bugs need to be ironed out...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Is there an issue putting an 8800GTX in the top most PCIe slot in terms of hitting the NB HS "Silent Pipe" on the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6?

Has anyone here had experience with the Ds3p p35 ? I have one on its way and it seems very close to the Dq6. I wish I could buy both and do a comparison lol... but for 150... I hope its good!

The problem with the 965-s wasnt really the board, its the people who bought them.... There's really only one reason to buy that board, because of its performance.... If you want quiet, headache free, stable, easy to use blah blah blah then there's alot better 965 boards out there..... But if you want all out performance then only the Quad Gt can compare in P965 chipset.....
Its like buying a Porche 911 GT3 and saying its too loud and the ride is too stiff.....![]()
