Performance looks pretty solid. They tested with a Q6600 and were a little disappointed with the overclocking as they could only hit 3.375Ghz (9x375).

Note, however, that this is the same max overclock they reached in their review of the ASUS P5K3 Deluxe. The MSI P35 Neo they reviewed hit 3.2Ghz (9x355).
I have no problem pushing my E4300 (800MHz bus chip) to 425MHz at 8x. The CPU hits a FSB wall at this point. Bumping the multi to 9x resulted in 3.51GHz with 1.505Vcore (BIOS). My cheap Kingston DDR2 800 ValueRAM is running at DDR2 954 with 5-4-4-9 timing. Could go higher with more Vcore, but I will need to upgrade the Big Typhoon to tame the HEAT.

The author should have used 1:1 divider to take the memory out of the equation. That's overclock 101. Again, I wouldn't put too much faith in that overclock review. There is no guarantee compatibility when dealing with overclocked memory.

but he is using PC-8500 ram!...i am using at the moment PC-8000 and i can hold DDR-1080 (running 1:1.2); probably could go a tad higher if i really pumped the ram with more volts.

I was having a sound issue with the extremem gamer but not sure what it was a issue with. I an using 4gigs ram with vista 64 and when I installed the latest drivers the sound card would work until the first time that I rebooted then it would be just static.

I went back to the drivers that come with that iso image that is available for xfi on vista and that driver works great as long as I dont update it.

Basically a older driver works fine but the new one doesnt. I went down to a fresh install of vista64 with nothing installed except for the vista updates its self and had the same issue.

old driver works like a champ

It's always prudent to take the RAM out of the equation when probing for maximum FSB. Just because the RAM is rated at 8500 doesn't mean that it will achieve that speed on every DDR2 board. There are only several devices that are connected to the MB...PSU, RAM, CPU, CPU cooler, GPU, HDD, mouse, and keyboard. When I encounter mysterious FSB wall with a capable board, the culprit is usually the RAM or the BIOS.

Or the cpu. My E6600 has a wall of 540fsb. It will go no further. My dfi 965-s stopped at exactly 540 fsb no matter what I did.

My abitip35 pro with the same exact setup stopped at 540fsb no matter what I did. I got new ram that can easily do 600mhz and it still will not boot with more then 540fsb. The cpu seems to be the culprit. I will find out in a month for sure but I am pretty confident this is the case.

Correct. My E4300 would not post beyond 425MHz FSB. Back to the article. I would be very suspicious if that 6xxx CPU has a 375MHz FSB wall.

They also added the NB strap option.
I'm pretty stoked about the 1T command rate myself.

Running like a champ here. It uses the same PWM RT8802A IC as the top-of-the-line IP35 Pro. Unfortunately, my E4300 hits a FSB wall at 425MHz. Don't have an E6xxx chip to probe for maximum FSB speed on this IP35-E.

Has anyone had a chance to try this board with a G0 stepping chip yet? I have a Q6600 G0 on pre-order and am 99% decided on this board. Will it work with the chip out of the box?

    very good.
However can you manually select dram ratios in the BIOS ?

    @ibby

    i don't think you can...

looking the screenshot from the source, it appears:

    1:1 and 1:1.2 = 1333 strap
    1:1.25 and 1:1.5 = 1066 strap
    1:1.66 and 1:2 = 800 strap

as far as i know, those are FSB to Dram ratios...just what ibby was asking.

EDIT:..if ibby was asking whether you can dial in a specific numeric dram frequency, then, the answer is NO!

Really? That's no good. I wonder why that is; the 1T seemed to add a bit with P965 boards, didn't it?

at the lower end of the FSB around 390-400, i had way lower memory bandwidth with 1T..as i tiered up to 450, it started to be very close together..still, 2T doing better...now, that might be the results of my memory being programmed to operate at 2T.

2 seconds in a run that takes about 12-14 minutes is not something i would say is stellar...or...show a trend since subsequent runs can vary by seconds at 32M

Well this is my intial results with 1T with my crucial abllistics 8500 2x1gb. Now I am running vista 64 so the scores are not what they would be with XP. I did manage to take about 7/8 of a second off my scores from before that were 2t running 500fsb 1:1 with 4-4-4-12 and 4x1gb. I know not a good comparison but will do more testing (allthough Ace-a-Rue will do more indepth I am sure).

I am just happy I got this mhz with the ram at 1T. With 2.2v it wouldnt post at the next highest level which was like 564 or soemthing like that.

here are my runs at 1T and 2T...i did 2T first.

    2T:

    1st run: 14M 32.844 Secs
    2nd run: 14M 29.515 Secs
    3rd run: 14M 23.593 Secs (best run)

    1T:

    1st run: 14M 33.406 Secs
    2nd run: 14M 24.641 Secs (best run)
    3rd run: 14M 29.906 Secs.

1st image is 2T Memory settings:

2nd image is 1T memory settings:

CONCLUSION:..2T edged out 1T by 1 second on 32M SuperPI...to me, it is a tie since run to run can vary with results.
