I have tried it. But the memory performance is slower than F4 BIOS. While F4 BIOS memory performance is slower than F3 BIOS.
So, I now stick with F3 BIOS.

But, my cold double boot problem is still exist. Gigabyte technical service hasn't replied my mail yet. Now I'm forced to leave my power cord connected while off, something that I rarely do before. So sad...

I thought it had already been explained to you that the double-post is not a fault.

I flashed to F5h....there are new strap options and additional info.

They added a 4" strap..it's not a typo. They have added some info about an 800/1066/1333 strap setting.

+ = 1333, " = 1066, and one for 800...seems they are preping the way for the new 1333FSB processors, i'm sure these bios will go to final soon.

I didn't see any other changes or adiditions, F5h is dated June 28th 2007.

    DS3R has RAID
    DS3P has 2 PCIE slots
So the above is missing from the DS3

[offtopic]I had a 1950xtx that died on me after 5 months. I went down with the full intention of paying the difference towards a 8800gtx but when they told me they would only give me 3/4 of the 1950xtx, I left and have taken my business elsewhere. I was going to go to the CAB to see if I could get the rest of the money they owe me, but I've decided I will be more satisfied if I can cost them £x00's in lost sales instead.[/offtopic]

But some boards don't encounter this problem at all. That's why I ask the technical service about this random symptom.

Btw, I'm sorry to hear your story too pal.

I'm running a Xeon 3210 kentsfield in the DS3R at 450x8 1.53v. This cpu was limited to 400x8 1.58v on the DFI-S Dark board... So, my switch to the DS3R was a great one. I run the cpu 24/7 on WCG so its 100% stable at these settings. The only downfall I've seen so far is that sometimes I lose my NIC and I have to reboot several times to get it back. Also, I dont see any voltages in the bois and I deff dont trust Gigabyte's software in windows for the reading. I'm going to switch to my Q6600 tonight and flash to the F5 bios.. Fingers crossed

thats funny i have a 6420 that does 450x8 all day long on the dfi like a rock
but nothing makes it stable on ds3r, posibly due to ram being borked on this board

Well, I've noticed (from other posts) that the Kentsfields clock a bit different on the DS3R than the Conroe does. I'd say that the P35 is much much better for the Kentsfield than the 965 is.

The F5B bios for the DS3R seems to give fewer 3dmarks (about 300-400 less), but I can OC my CPU by another 300mhz which makes up for it. I am giving up at 3.2ghz for my E2160. G0 Q6600, here I come!

fsb seems to be alot stronger on p35 in general

I think its the mobo. Although it in theory could be the graphics card or the monitor too.

Its the only issue I had (apart from e2160 having lw fsb wall of 395fsb), but its quite a show stopper.

Reminds me of my dfi infinity nf2 pos, but at least my board holds an overclock.
    Just me then?

Hi guys. Im looking for some help and advice from some of you that experienced this or know better.

Last night I was swapping Cpus on my 965P DS3 to see if new one oc better and i've bent a pin, then i got water leak and fried my board I've tried everything and its no good. So I've bought P35 DS3R. Here's problem.

I've had my Vista 32 OS on RAID 0 with 2 seagate 750. with 2 partitions, one OS+Programs other partition Storage. With 2 750 gig i really do have about 1 gig of files that are crucial for me to get back. I have home videos and photos from my entire life. (i have backup of photos from before last years but everything 07 no backup)

So its extremely important for me to get it all back. With swapping motherboards. Am i going to be able to boot up? Again i have Vista 32bit, Will repairing it from the Vista DVD install new drivers/keep windows?

Last but not least. if i go and buy new HD, install OS on there, will i still have access to the RAID 0 Drives? so i could back up most important info?

Thanks a bunch, Im posting in this forum cause you guys are owning these motherboards. Any help is greatly appriciated. Im suppose to have my motherboard here later today or tomorrow and would like to know exactly what i have to do to get my files backed up.

    Thank you

I've found my board does the same sometimes, it mainly did it when I was testing different overclocks. Are you overclocking at the moment?
