did you lap the C2D this time?
Also why not just remove the IHS... maybe MCW60 will crush the core?
P.S. Subscribed.... if you would be kind enough to explain how you got the 226w peltiers mounted w/ neoprene etc + G80 adapter kit onto the 8800gtx I would really appreciate it. Im sitting here fiddling my thumbs debating whether to get the MCW60T at a cool sale price of $99.99 or to build my own MCW60 + Peltier like how you are doing.... I think the MCW60T comes with a 188watt peltier which is no good for overclocking a 8800gtx if I am correct, or at least not good for heavy overclocking the card... but still that would bring someone to question how you can stick a 226watt peltier under the MCW60 if swiftech themsleves made the TEC version of the MCW60 with only a 188watt Peltier... I think its because they made it before the time of the 8800gtx...

MCW60 crushing the core on a C2D? Or do you mean on the 8800... And even then wouldn't it be more likely to be crushed if the IHS is removed?

Yeah, I've been havin some fun lately with LN2 and dry ice. I still maintain up to three seperate water loops for 24/7 crunching/gaming on the cpu -- Cyclone 120 res> 2x DDC+ w/ petra's top (in series)>PA120.3 (6x YL D12SL blue led in push/pull)>Apogee GTX and the GPU's -- EK Res150>DDC+ w/ petra's top>GTX240 (2x Panaflo G's in push)>2x MCW60GT as well as the NB/SB -- EK Res 150>DD D5>GTX 240 (2x Panaflo G's in push)>EK Wave Chipset Rev 1.1 (SB)>DD Maze 4 Chipset 680i (NB).
I will prolly keep everything out of the case until the 680i board gets replaced. Then I'll do a MM Horizon build sometime this winter featuring the 680i's SLI replacement board, a QX6800, Corsair Dominator PC10K ram, 2x 8800 Ultra's (or G90's if they're out), RAID 0 150gb Raptor's etc, etc... with seperate water loops on the GPU's and NB/SB and a built into the case single stage phase unit for the cpu with the usual "Wraith" bling.
Yes, I lapped my darling E6300. Sorry, but I don't do naked CPU's....I'm not into cpu pr0n!![]()
Please PM me and I'll let you know what I did for insulation to do pelts on the 8800GTX's. I might even have two set-ups available for sale...bigger pelts with more compatable Swifty blocks (a version of the Apogee 1U server blocks with G80 kits) but you'll still have to do the insulating yourself. The 226 watt pelt has it's own set of pro's and cons...but I digress.
