If you do this, no need for vdroop mod then?
Shouldn't be it's worth a good couple of notches on vcore.

on my 24/7 3.6 on commando was at 1.55~1.5625v am stable (on 0311) at 1.525v Onlly thing i must admit it's taken me a bit of time estimating what vcore to use on this after the commando

Ambient temps at 20C-25C. Also this chip surprisingly runs at low voltage 1.45v @ 3.6Ghz (1.39v-1.40v in Bios and Asus Monitor). Wonder if it's because the new spec SL9ZF These parts have Extended Halt (C1E) power of 12W. My E6600 needs 1.525V for that speed and runs much hotter.

BIOS 0404 was a no go for me also...

Could not boot stable with the same settings in my sig (8x450, RAM 1:1)...

The strap change addition is interesting, but did not get me anywhere.
Plus, I lost my Sound (Old school PCI Creative Soundblaster 5.1), 2 Front USB Ports and my Yukon Gig Port went kaput. Plus, upon a crash, my video drivers (nVidia 94.24 on my 7900GS) reverted back to the default Windows driver and would not let me load new ones due to a conflict. So I Uninstalled, restarted with the F8- Enable VGA Mode option, installed again, and hoped the driver reinstall took.

That's what I get for trying the newest BIOS before it's even ready...0311 is the way to go for me, so I flashed back and all those issues disappeared. I didn't even have to enable/reinstall the items that got conked out before.

    Hope this helps someone.
    Thanks!
    jeeka.

That helps, don't want any issues. I'm gonna take bingo's hint and wait until new bios officially released. 311 is great for me anyway. Thanks to everyone who tried it though and reported back, it helps to hear about the issues. It's tempting to flash and see what more I can squeeze out of this setup.

I have less stability in Bios 0404 than 0311. So i stick with 0311 and wait for 05 series Bioses.

@ mc2k: update by EZ Flash Bios 0311 and problem will gone.

Can anyone confirm that when putting the NB voltage and co on auto that these per definition are the lowest values possible eg for the NB 1.2 and that these aren't overvolting for no reason like on the Commando board...

Why the heck didn't asus include a readout on all important voltages, temps...

Also for the Flash problems , never flash from within Winblows nor flash when the rig is overclocked plz
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

edit * running orthos blend = 60( asus probe / 50 @ coretemp) degreece is this 2 hot, maybe i should reapply the seatsink:X ( btw is a stock intel with MX-1, just put a line in the center and applied the HS).

Heh, even if it is PC2 6400 instead of PC2 8500 never fear, I bought my Mushkin PC2 6400 over a year ago & it will run as DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) if I need it to.

Got my board back from RMA. This one doesn't have the same issues as the last board.

457x7 1:1 1.4vcore, 2.2vdimm, 4x1gb, 4-4-4-12, Orthos stable. Think I found my 24/7 settings. How much vcore do you all use for 24/7? The chip can hit 3.6, but needs 1.5+, which I don't think is a good idea for 24/7 use, even with an Ultra 120 Extreme.

thnx for the replys, yea i was also thinking , but the model number is still the 8500`s, Oke I reapllied the TIM, now the temps are much lower, and I now know there are 2 temps: Asus probe reads cpu temperature:36 degreece now @ idle , but core temp: gaves 28/29 , and when i look everrest: it gaves both the core temp and the cpu temp, same value like coretemp/asus probe, oke when I am overclocking which temp should i watch not to exceed I remembered that it was said not to exceed 62 degreece, is this the core temp or the cpu temp, any help much appreciated.
*edit but isnt it weird that my core temp is lower then my cpu temp, or is this normal?

    Maximum temperature is about 80c

Keep it under 65 to play it safe.

About the readings, I don't know, CoreTemp read about 10c higher than the Asus probe, so I'll go with the higher temperature since I don't want to be fool by a low temperature report.

    Here's something that might help...
