Hi, thanks for that, ive been looking for a while and couldnt find the answer to that, cheers

As Kougar said, you have to use the hotkey to enter the 'advanced' sections of a Gigabyte bios.

If you enable Intel QST in bios under System Health and boot into Windows you'll get a "new hardware found" warning, as such you'll neeed to load the driver.

    Bios F5D for GA-P35-DS4.

It works perfectly and now I see that in bios setting memory performance -> "Turbo", the Performance Level is 6, seen with MemSet 3.3 beta 2. Before it was between 9 and 11.

I have the DS4 and F4 BIOS. I cant see any tRFC option. Is this on any other BIOS? Will it be included in the future?

My Spi32M times arent that great, I think its partly RFC to blame.

EDIT: Gonna try that new BIOS and see what happens

EDIT 2: Looks like it (F5d) helps a bit. Now to try any FSB differences!

Thanks for that dude, not really used to these Gigabyte boards, I was thinking I'd have to wait for a BIOS update or something to get the options.

Bit random how it's pretty much just the RAM timings that are hidden away.

I couldnt change any timings with f3 shipping bios without no post; even with all settings as auto sets them. Try to set a manual timing = no post. Anyone else find this?

Is it impossible to flash the backup BIOS? If you flash the BIOS, you must load the "optimized BIOS" which is really the one you just flashed, but the original BIOS always stays intact as a backup?

    Someone please confrim this.

That question has not ben answered by Gigabyte as yet, from my understanding you can only flash the main bios, it's the only chip that appears under QFlash.

As to the backup, it cannot be flashed...i have asked my GB contact to clarify this and the specific question of whether the backup bios also gets flashed at the same time to flash the main bios.

Also whether or not the backup bios version always remains the same. As in if you flash the main bios to F5 does the backup always remain at F3 etc.

    Oh wow,

I have just put in the F5g bios andhave gained a load of memory bandwidth.

I have been testing the differences of low timings to high frequency and settled on 4-4-4-12 timings, 415 fsb with a 2.5 multipler.

With the F5g bios I have gained another 500MB/s across the board and latency dropped by 3ns.

just got a P35 DS4 up & running, so far I have tested a few bios & have found the F5C beta to be best for me...

Tried the F5D & ran into problems with OCing...

I know for a fact that the Typhoon VX fits on my DS4 so it should fit the DQ6 w/out any issues.

At least this board likes my TwinX 6400C4 rev 1.2 unlike the GA-965P DS3 board that I replaced it with.

also been able to OC my CPU & ram a bit then on my P5W DH & 965P DS3 rev 2.0...

Any tips for ram timings etc & what max volts I should be using for fsb etc??

One other thing, when I have it set to 1.45v CPU in bios, CPU-Z picks it up as 1.4v... Is Cpu-Z reporting it wrong or is the board undervolting bad??

Specs for my rigs are in my sig.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated in regards to the voltage issues...

edit: Just looked at pics of DQ6 & the heatpipe arrangement is exact same as DS4. My Typhoon VX fits like a charm... although I am thinking bout replacing it with Ultra 120 Xtreme...

edit 2: Makes me wonder why ppl would buy the DS3P when the DS4 is exact same with better cooling & is only AUD$20 dearer than the DS3P....
    Cheers,
    Minh

Would the DQ6 BIOS work on the DS4 seeing as they're essentially the same board with a couple SMC changes? (chokes, CPU socket caps)

I don't think so, because the DQ6 does also have a QuadBios, where the DS4 has a DualBios.

I think the DS4 and DS3P bioses are equal, since these boards only differ in cooling and accesoires.

Voltage issues here to, same as you either Cpu-z is borked, or bord undervolts. 1,5 in bios shows 1,4xx with Cpu-z. So far ocŽing has been simple http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=2308283 That cpu speed is prime stable BTW. Everyting in bios @ default exept v-core at 1,53xx
