This stuff is just freaking amazing. 1200MHz @ 2.25vdimm w/ 5-5-5-10 for 24/7 on my P5B Deluxe. I don't know if any ram out there that does the same. Do you?

Nice. I think I'll grab another then. Hopefully DDR2-1200 5-5-5 on the upcoming p38 chipset will be able to keep up with DDR3-1066 at 6-6-6 +/- 10%. That will make these a fine investment.

It seems that every time these go on sale someone always states the same baseless comment about how these must be using some new or different chip (the inference is always to a lower quality chip due to the current low prices). There is nothing to support these comments as there isn't a single pic out there that I am aware of a Ballistix PC2-8500 with a chip other than D9GMH or D9GKX.

The comments always something along the line that at these prices it must be something different and then someone comes along just about every time and posts a pic from a recent purchase showing that they are in fact D9(GMH or GKX). At some point guys need to quit worrying about the chips that are shipping with these Crucial Ballistix. To date they have all been quality D9 Micron chips...and the majority of the users are more than happy with them.

Once again, here is a pic of a recent purchase (pics from post dated 06/15/07)...these are D9GMH. Take it for what its worth.

I agree, seems dumb to always think that a lesser cost means a product of less quality. When AMD and Intel cut the cpu prices big time did they lower the quality of them? When LCD price are now less then half of what they were, are they lesser quality?

Also, they should read some of the results posted in the threads. I posted 3 sets of Crucial Ballistixs that did 600MHz. Are you going to get that with cheap, crappy chips?

They need to think about what they write before hitting the keys.

I don't know how much longer I can wait for this X38 chipset mobos to come out as I know I'm wasting the performance of this ram with my P5W DH, I'm seriously considering a P5K Deluxe........

Lets see, my first C2D board was the MSI 975 Platinum v2.0. Poor cooling, struggled to reach 400FSB (Sold). My second board was Asus P5W DH. Max stable FSB 420mhz @1.65vmch. Sold that board and picked up a 1.85vmch version which I returned & bought a newer serial 1.85vmch(Still Got). Third board was P5B Deluxe. Couldn't get over 450FSB orthos stable, voltages were just to unstable for me(returned). Fourth was Abit AW9-D Max. 440FSB max stable PI, orthos never passed above 400FSB(Still Got). Fifth was evga 680i. Easiest board I've overclocked yet, but @ the time keyboard and mouse went haywire during overclocks, & raid suxed when it worked(Returned). Sixth was DFI's RD600. Probably best board for testing hardware, but slowest board I've owned(Still Got). Seventh, the Abit IN9 32 Max. My current gamer, clocks memory like a beast, quick, but still only a beta bios that's stable. Next was abit fatality IHD. Nice for the sff, but limited to 367FSB & slow like the RD600.(Still Got). Finally my last purchase was DFI's P965-S. Easiest 500FSB orthos board I've owned yet, fairly quick, but anything over 505FSB I've not gotten stable.

Of all the boards I've had the P5WDH still has given me the fastest PI times & Highest 3DMark Score. Followed by the Abit AW9-D Max. The 975X was intels last "performance chipset". Nothing else seems to outperform it. I'm gonna wait on their next "performance" chipset before wasting anymore money on motherboard. The P35 overclocks memory impressively, but is performance will only be a few %'s over your P5B.

Well, don't feel bad, I had a really good mobo Rev1.02G which was magnificent and I sold it thinking that a Rev1.03/4G would be better but I have not been able to find one just like it. Look below, no vmods or nothing, that's mobo and cpu that got me to 4.15Ghz on Water.

Well, no one is trying to force you to buy it, so it is not a matter of "giving in".

The product is good, and if you want/need it, the pricing is good. The rest is up to you.

I just finished ordering a couple of sets, then came here to post about it, but you had beat me to it.

I'm going to start a new thread for that deal, as this thread sometimes gets overlooked because it has been up for so long.

The good thing about the Mwave rebates from Crucial is that they generally allow you to purchase 2 kits, not just one.

Reefa Madness - How do you think the UF is going to do this year? I'm having high hopes for my Canes this year.

With Timmy at the helm, I'm sure that we will be able to fend off all sorts of rain storms in the Sahara, as well as ice storms in Hawaii, not too mention those hot and arrid days that accompany the summer hurricanes...Oh, wait, you meant in football, didn't you?

Truthfully, the Gators will be talented, but green on defense, so it depends on how well the offense can click and if it scores enough to keep us in games until the defense comes around. Several of the pre-season magazines have us highly rated, one that I have predicts a 11-1 season, loosing only to LSU but I believe that is a tad optimistic. I would think that 9-3 or perhaps 10-2 should be considered a good season for us this year.

A year from now we should be deeper, stronger and better prepared to challenge for top honors.

I think that the Canes have a ton of talent also, but with a defensively minded coach, the success on the field will be very dependent on how your offense fares.

Your team and mine should merge...then watch out FSU!

Now that is the team (FSU) which is an even bigger question mark. Sometimes hot, sometimes not...which team shows up more often will certainly be the question over there this season.
