Just pulled off 501mhz Cas 3 with a single stick 512mb PC8000 Ballistix 2.80V on my P965-S3... I think it's the Cas 3 WR for a gigabyte P965 board.

He said Gigabyte board.Nice clocks everyone. I haven't been able to get Crucial stuff benchable at 500 yet, at least not in DC--tried up to 3.3v. :S On the other hand 480-490 is very strong even at relatively low volts.
Tried the Ballistix on me P35C tonight.
5/6 divider is nice for us E6600 users (4ghz with decent mem clock at last) however it seems slow. 8x499.5 with mem at 599mhz and 4-4-4 only gets me 12.625. Could be OS though.
Good luck achieving that on a P965 Gigabyte board... I can't even break 1066mhz 5-5-5-18 in dual channel and 1100mhz in single channel with up to 2.7V on the ram and 1.7V to the chipset! The board won't break 475mhz FSB or 1100mhz on the ram... I think my P5W DH clocked better than this!

need some Ballistix advice please guys ....
currently have 2 gig of 8500 stuff - with a P5B Deluxe - its running at a fairly low 1080 MHz CAS5.
question though - Crucial have recently reduced their "direct" prices for RAM in the UK - so 2 gig of 8500 stuff is about 95 pounds (190 dollars) - BUT I saw that 1 gig (2x512) of 8000 stuff is only about 45 pounds (90 dollars)
now 2 questions - does it clock as well as the 8500 stuff ? It still uses D9 as far as I can see - all I need it to get up to 1080 MHz CAS5
2nd question - will it still run in dual channel mode on my P5B - I'll have in one bank 2 x 1 gig and the other 2 x 512MB ?
my thinking is that although going for the 2x 1 gig would be ideal - I'm not planning to upgrade to Vista 64 anytime soon, and therefore only 3.2 gig would be addressable.
worthwhile do you reckon? My thoughts are that although it will only increase my avaailable RAM by 50% - my effective available to programs RAM after loading Vista will be increased by about 75-80%?
thanks for any advice,
Mark.

Nice i hope you found the 600mhz 4-4-4 set![]()
nah no 600mhz 4-4-4-x
but 5-4-4-x is memtesting nice at 590mhz so far !

eva, I'm telling ya just get a pair of the 8000's and you'll have it like cake. (not sub 2.4 tho)
It seems like ages but back on May 29 I mailed my $85 rebate for Crucial Ballistix PC8500 that I bought from Newegg. A few days later I sent them back to Newegg to be replace because one of the module was bad but they refunded my money. Now I get a email from Crucial informing me that they are processing my $85 rebate. I wonder if they will discover that my money was refunded or a better question might be should I tell them or cash the check if I get it?
Now I'm wondering if I should give the Crucial Ballistix PC8500 another chance as they are now $125.

You will have to answer this question yourself, however, you did ask for a replacment since they didn't have the same item in stock you will got a refund instead which is their policy. So technically you did the right thing, now in return you should give them another try. I just got my 2nd set, I will report back later.

What dont I understand here. I have 2G OCZ 1066SLI running 270Mhz (540Mhz) with CPU at 3.25Ghz and in SiSoft Sandra I get 11,000/11,000 buffered and 9000/9000 unbuffered on the memory bandwidth test.
You running 320Mhz (640Mhz) and getting only 8K/8K and 6K/6K respectively.

You guys might wanna check your voltages with a MM, speedfan is always off by .03-.06V on my board.

I wish I could say that was the case for me. I've owned a LOT of 8000's and NONE did better than any of the 8500's ive tested.
You either got lucky on 8000 or really unlucky on 8500. I am testing new 8500 now
I might have a testing marathon tonight, I actually have free time
edit: eva, its on. I fired up my P5K and 8500's. Running tests just about the same as you, with E6550 of course
2.2vdimm 5-5-5-15 im 32m pi running already
1 set of D9GKX, 2 sets of D9GMH to test tonight
2.20Vdimm 5-5-5-15 (same settings as eva2000)
1st set) 640MHz
2nd set) 626MHz
3rd set) 638MHz
Not bad! Now on to 4-4-4-5 (still 2.2vdimm)
