    i have 2 pairs of mismatched ram.
    the PC4300 in slot 1&3 were the ones i had before and the PC5300 in slot 2&4 are new.

    I tried the new set in slot 1&3 and i lost my OC as it would not boot past 405fsb.
    went back to 2&4 with the original PC4300 in 1&3 again and got my OC back.
    doesn't make sense because they can both run 460mhz with all 4 slots populated with my old E6300 but won't work if i switch slots on them.

    Thanks for the replay Elisha

    Im planning to buy exactly the same make and speed just different size sticks

    512 instead of 1024

    question is would it give me problems like yours ?

    Hi guys... Is this an FSB wall? I can't boot @ 500fsb...

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=207071

    I had to resort to use setfsb for that... from 495 to 499, although i was using 1.4v vcore at that time...

    memv = 2.35
    vfsb = 1.2v
    nb = 1.55
    sb = 1.6??
    vmch = 1.2v

    even if i raise the vcore to 1.56 winxp hangs on boot! My e4300 booted @1.55v for 3.6ghz...

    do i have to ramp up the vfsb voltage? thanks!

    my 2x PC4300 are good for 1000mhz and i never tested the PC5300 to see what they were capable of......but when i added them to the system......all 4 sticks worked at 7x460 no problem so i left it there.

    I bet the CPU can't take that high an overclock.

    Oh is that all you are overclocking the CPU.

    What about Memory, I can only do 900MHz with my memory.

    I start at default and make one change at a time, then Benchmark and test , till I see what I can do.

    I think you are creating a lot of heat:
    fsb termination voltage: max
    nb voltage: max
    sb voltage: 1.7
    ich voltage: max

    timings: 5-5-5-15-5 35 5-11-7-13

    Do you know what the settings after the first 4 do?
    If you do, I would be untested in reading about it. Any reference material?

    but my memory is tested to run at 1.2ghz, it should be able to handle 1ghz with high fsb. I already tested 400fsb / 500 ram but that's not what I would consider maxing out my hardware.

    you are probably right, Im used to the P5w which needed high voltages but at the same time didn't get the high temps of the P5B

    I purchased a set of TWIN2X-PC 8500C5. It boasted to run at 1066 MHz.
    I could not get past 850Mhz. I talked to Corsair and they said it was not on the QVC list for the P5b. I returned it any for another pair. Same thing!
    I sold it on e-Bay and purchase some cheaper 800 Mhz memory on the QVC list. What I have now will run faster at 2 sick, but now I am using 4GBs. I also had change my timings from 4-4-4-12 to 4-5-5-12. I don't mess with the other memory settings because I don't know what they do. I also changes my memory Voltage from a default of 1.9V to 2.3V. I read this on a review of my memory before I received it.

    http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...=2#description

    I installed the latest JMicron Raid driver, and set my JMicron to RAID in BIOS. My IDE DVD-RW drive is detected by the JMicron Raid driver, but my ESATA isn't .

    I tried AHCI or ACHI in BIOS, Windows won't boot, system restarts as soon as I see the loading screen for Windows.

    For those of you who uses the P5B Deluxe motherboard with an eSATA external HD, what are the BIOS settings for IDE configuration and Onboard devices?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    btw, not sure if it matters, but the cable doesn't make a tight fit into the motherboard nor the drive, but it is snug enough so it doesn't pop out itself.
    Same here. I'm running the 1101 bios but going through the eSata cable I can't get my HDD to be recognized.

    Agreed, I've installed them both and they seem to be very solid. Perhaps its coincidence but it seems like my computer is running "snappier" with them installed.

    Also, has anyone had success with the beta BIOS that was posted recently?

    What OS are you running? Win XP is effectively limited to 3gb. Read here:

    Chipset software updating is new to me so I have a couple of questions hoping someone here can keep me straight.

    Do I need to do a fresh OS install in order for the software update to be in effect?

    What BIOS settings do I need to make to take advantage on the benefits from the software update?

    Will I see any benefits after the update with my current setup? BIOS SATA Configuration set to IDE, 3 SATA II hard drives no raid, 2 SATA DVD Burners and 1 PATA Burner.

    TIA.

    Hey y'all.......not posted in a while, but need some advice!

    Had my system happily running for months, now I am noticing slower RAID speeds on my two HDD. The avg read speed was ~100mb/s, but now it is anywhere between 65 and 85.

    I have tried all the latest drivers, a new installation of Vista Ultimate 64 / XP PRo and even split the RAID and run the drive tools from Hitachi and both drives checkout OK; even the Intel Raid BIOS thing says the RAID Config is healthy.

    I am stumped, its draggin my performance down a little and its really pi$$ing me off!!

    Can anyone help??

    Cheers

    so I took a leap of faith and put the voltages on low levels, with the cpu at 1.45. The temps went down by 5C, so that's good. Not running on a very high fsb at 300 but the ram is stable with this fsb setting at 1.2ghz.

    I just can't shake the habit of maxing out the voltages for high fsb overclocks!

    What voltage settings did you set for 400> fsb?

    question please - if I upgrade my 2x 1 gig RAM modules and add 2x 512MB ... will I still keep dual channel ?

    does RAM have to be the same size in each bank or overall all 4 slots ?

    thanks, Mark.

    P5B Deluxe RAID 5 Installation Procedure w/JMicron

    Does anyone have a pictoral or graphical example of how to hook-up sata II drives for raid 5 & JMicron. I just don't get it reading the manual. SATA connecting on the MOBO, SATA 1, 2, 5, 6 (red) SATA 3, 4 (black - slave) and
    SATA-Raid. Do I connect the first SATA drive to the SATA-Raid, second SATA drive to the SATA-1, third SATA drive to SATA-2, fourth SATA drive to SATA-5 and fifth SATA drive to SATA-6 for a total of 5 SATA II drives configured for RAID 5 ??? Please help.
