    subtimings may be too tight.

    try 5-5-5-15-6-42-4-11-5-13 to start

try manually applying voltages instead of auto.

when it doesn't post, instead of cutting power from the psu, try turned off the pc by the button. then wait 3 seconds. then power on again

i think the mobo is dying..... its downgrading somehow just like the ram when when over volting it

but it does not makes any sense,,,

Can not get eSATA port to work

    Hey guys,

I just recently purchased a Seagate 750GB FreeAgent Pro external hard drive with eSATA connector. But I can not get my P5B Deluxe's ESATA port to work with this hard drive. I bought the ESATA to eSATA cable from Monoprice.com here:

    http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...=2#description

I installed the latest JMicron Raid driver, and set my JMicron to RAID in BIOS. My IDE DVD-RW drive is detected by the JMicron Raid driver, but my ESATA isn't .

I tried AHCI or ACHI in BIOS, Windows won't boot, system restarts as soon as I see the loading screen for Windows.

For those of you who uses the P5B Deluxe motherboard with an eSATA external HD, what are the BIOS settings for IDE configuration and Onboard devices?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw, not sure if it matters, but the cable doesn't make a tight fit into the motherboard nor the drive, but it is snug enough so it doesn't pop out itself.

under Boot, go to hard drives and make sure it shows up in the boot list.
only the hard drives hooked to the intel ports show up there by default.

Im having a bit of a trouble with my p5b DLX wifi ap.
Maybe you guys can help me.

I have a Dell 2007WFP...and the USB hub seems to disconnect if i leave the comp turned on for several hours....to fix it i have to restart.

Also it seems that sometimes the onboard sound fails after several hours....it gives me that tipical no-drivers-installed error that appears when you forget to install drivers at first boot.

    Anyway...ive passed orthos 12hs and memtest 260%...

    Any clues?

    Maybe is bios related?

I don't think that is a CPU problem. What is the voltage specifications of your memory? What do you have it set at know?
What brand memory is it and the part number?

I don't have a eSATA hard drive and never tested one on my system. But, one time I made the mistake of loading JMicron drivers. As a result, I needed to reload Windows. I use it for a CD/ DVD ROM only and it works fine without it drivers. It is set up in the device manager with Microsoft Drivers.

Just a thought, could you not get a long SATA cable, run it out the back and use the Intel Matrix Storage driver. Or, would that not work.

I first had CORSAIR XMS2 PC2 8500)TWIN2X # 8500CS and it would not perform anything close to it's specification. Corsair said it was the motherboard compatibility issue. So I sold it on ebay.

So I purchased Kingston HyperX PC2 6400 and it is solid as a rock. My memory is on the QVL list,

I have overclocked my system much higher (even memory) than it is now for testing. But, I don't like to run 24/7 with maximum overclocking. I even use SpeedStep.

Nothing, It is just such and old benchmark.

3Dmark 2001 program is can be effeted with every smallest timing changes as so as the Cpu Speeds you see it in that pic i posted before,

some ppl Use Quake 3 to benchmark the rams and some of them uses 3Dmark 2001

If you have not noticed, Intel came out with new drivers for the P965 Express Chipset.

Dated 6/4/2007 for the inf. And Matrix Storage Manager .5.0.1017 6/4/2007 and they work fantastic !!!

    my rig:
    E6700 L632A B2
    P5B Deluxe 1.10 C2 on 1004 BIOS
    2GB Kingston HyperX PC2 9600 DDR2 1.2Ghz ram

...I seem to have hit a wall at 400 fsb

The highest I could reach was 400 fsb 1:1

If I try to set the ram at 600 (1.2Ghz) the highest fsb I can set is 300.

I'm stumped, ram timings are relaxed at 5-5-5-15, all voltages are maxed out while trying different high CPU voltages from 1.475v to 1.6v

Unnecessary CPU and RAM settings are disabled (C1E, TM, Spread Spectrum, Static read). I added extra cooling, 120mm case fan and thermalright heatsinks for the NB, SB and MOSFETs

Also a few differences with my old P5w:
The temps! The E6700 now idles at 40C on watercooling
Also, the system's performance is lower than the P5W at the same settings or at the higher 400fsb 1:1 (which I couldn't reach with the P5W).

Anything I should know about the P5B and high fsb settings?

    Jast as a test.
    Mem Voltage at 2.3 v
    CPU at 1.3857
    Lock PCI at 33.33%
Set all the other setting on that page as default
Set Mem at 4-5-5-12 The rest keep all other settings at defult.

With those settings I can get my 4 GBs Kingston HyperX up to 1,000 MHz (500 x2 Mhz)
and A fsb of over 1500 MHz

I successfully got 400 fsb and 1Ghz ram yesterday (before I read this). The problems seem to start when I try to go for 1.2Ghz ram speeds.

Is it possible to overclock the P5B to 600 fsb 1:1 ??

    hmm... worth a try

how do I disable crossfire and run the 1st PCI-E solt at 16x on the P5B Dlx? Any gfx intensive game I try to start crashes I'm guesing it's for this reason.

EDIT: 401 didn't work. Crashed vista immediately.

Memory in all 4 Dimm sockets ?

Are there any known problems with populating all 4 dimms sockets ?

i know it doesnt show above 3gb properly

i have 2 x 1gb geil 800 mhz dimms and wanna put 2 x 512mb of the same type of ram in for a total of 3gb

dont wanna mess up a successful overclock of 400 fsb cpu at 3.2ghz memory at 800
and 1 other question im running 400fsb no probs why do people always suggest try 401 ? is there something special that happens with 1mhz more ?
