Like leeghoofd already asked, did you memtest at 1066? and how many passes? Some problems only arise after a couple of passes... +9 should be ok.

Furthermore, my mobo doens't perform all too well on auto settings, it's like a woman, you need to tweak it a bit before it gets running
Set all voltages and all mem-variables by hand... let me copy paste some here:

    tCL (CAS Latency): 5
    tRCD: 5
    tRP: 5
    tRAS: 12
    Command Per Clock (CMD): 2T

    Advance Memory Settings
    tRRD: 7
    tRC: 9
    tWR: 6
    tWTR: 5
    tREF: 9
    tRD: 35
    tRFC: 2
    Async Latency: AUTO

I know it looks something like this, but please do NOT go with this, since it's what I recall by heart ... I'm not sitting behind my rig at the moment, just at work

, I also got the idea from another guy who did the mem config... I just added 1 or 2 at every value, and will get them down once by testing one by one... but I can't recall where I got it from. Maybe even from this post...
Will edit when found the post I mean...

    EDIT:

    TRRD 3
    TRC 5
    TWR 4
    TWTR 7
    TREF 1
    TRD 3
    TRFC 32

these were the original ones, rated for DDR2-667, GMH based mem, running at DDR 1164 Cas5 (2.175V set in BIOS). Credits to PyRo here

Good luck in the meantime man.

My modules come from Crucial :s This is Ballistix Tracer PC8500 and rated at 1066 so IT MUST WORK!

But not Memtest run now, 20 min without error, but orthos said help in less than 5 min ^^

I let it burn for now, I'll see the next ...

    Thanks a lot all!

Your theory about degrading the chipset is realy possible I think ...

I use Crucial modules right now, not OCZ bye the way

If memtest report no error, the modules are absolutely OK?

Oh my ... yep at 333Mhz and memory at 1066, freeze :s

    So what now?
    1.2v HT Voltage: 1.4v
    NB Core Voltage: 1.4v
    SB Core Voltage: 1.55v
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.35v

these should work fab with 1333FSB , maybe a bit more on the CPU VTT but the voltages for the rest are fine...

Also memtest needs to do several loops not just one run , some users prefer at least 10 loops of test 5 I think it was...if it also had probs with the crucial modules it's the baord and prolly the NB chipset degrading mate, have you tried the 2 other dimm slots ?

    Some serious slow-chatting here

@ Herwawan: will not post link then, since redirecting them here will def. give them a clue from whom it came

@ SLINROB: not sure... but I think a 4 => 8 connector won't do much about the stability, since it's still the 'old' 4 pin connector providing the power.

I only know that it's been mentioned in some threads, and that my new psu allowed me (with some more tweaking) to jump from 2.8 stable to 3.2 stable, and working on the 3.4 (yeah, it looks like a crappy chip... )

I hope that new bios gives you the stability most users experienced with the Striker and non plus boards, it has been a long wait for you chaps...

Also if you flash a bios plz reset all bios settings to default , reboot and start from scratch !!!

Sadly enough, you are SO right on that one
The answer they gave me through tech inquiries was something like:

hey, U don't HAVE to use the 0602 Bèta... just use the OFFICIAL bios out there. As if there was a bios that was good to use already, what a joke

    They indeed don't give a freakin' .

I think this will probably be my last Asus board. Their support is pretty much non existent.

That may be true but when your desperate and you have tried everything in the world that you can think of any new idea is a welcome one.

I guess Im not doing to bad though, I have 4 sticks of memory in this board and am stable at 3.3ghz with my E6600.

My mem miraculously enough is also rock stable. I am probably one of the lucky ones because most cant even boot with all 4 slots filled.

go go go Herwawan, well if Herwawn has a newer bios than 0602 there must be something in the making , finally in fact as they continued releasing drivers for the non plus board. Striker also has a new bios in sight 1202 which should help with quadcore overclocking.... I jus thope they will release anything soon ....

I've had great luck with the 0602 BIOS. I have had my e6600 up to 4.0GHz on this board and if the chip could do it, the board would easily go higher. One thing I learned is you absolutely have to up the voltage on the chipsets. I have both the NB and SB at 1.55v, just make sure you have adequate cooling. Also, set the CPU VTT to 1.5v. Make sure you turn off/disable any and all CPU controls.

Have you considered a reinstall of windows ? with the latest drivers from Nvidia for your motherboard ? Have you tried eg 2.25 ram voltage ?

You know what? I think I will just go back to a single 8800GTX. This crap is just too much $$$. I just ordered a P5b delux wifi edition OEM for $112.00

I used to own the regular P5b delux and it was the best darn board I ever owned.

This board really has a strange behaviour. This morning I was running 3.8GHz without problems, then went back to 3.4 at default voltage, then again up to 3.6GHz. No it's not stable anymore... I really don't get it. I really don't get what this board wants me to do...

    Welcome to the club

This is why im going back to intel. Im done with SLI. Why in the hell I would ever think I need two 8800GTX's at this resolution (1680X1050) is beyond me anyway.

I'm still not through with SLI I only had one SLI setup once, but honestly I loved it. I was always against that, but I really enjoyed it.
Also, somehow I'm used to dig myself through a difficult board... used to have the DFI Venus edition before and that board was quite picky considering RAM also.
I think I'll get it done somewhen... hopefully. The stupid thing is, right now I don't even have a slight clue what the problem could be.

Dont get me wrong, SLI is fun and the whole Idea is nice but geezzee if you want to stay on the highend its just to much $$$$!!!.

As long as I have SLI everytime a new gpu comes out I will feel like I have to purchase 2 of them instead of just one. Thats just how I am, stupid yes I know but I cannot help it.

A single card solution is the best way to keep me in check $$$ wise.

Hey, who are you telling that? Same thing here. But I found a way to rationalize it to myself.
I chose two lower end models, the one just below the fastest card, and kept it for like a year or so. My last cards were 2 7800 GT, now I'm running one GTS 640MB for now (and looking for a second one).
It normally doubles min. FPS, the critical point in gaming for me, and keeps performance at a nice level much longer than a single card. That means I have to wait longer to buy another pair, but in the end it's not more expensive and normally gives me more performance overall.
I'm still puzzled whether I should wait with another purchase until games come out that can use this kind of performance (a single GTX slightly OC is ~20% faster than my old SLI was), but I really learned to like SLI.
