@ SLINROB: not sure... but I think a 4 => 8 connector won't do much about the stability, since it's still the 'old' 4 pin connector providing the power.
I only know that it's been mentioned in some threads, and that my new psu allowed me (with some more tweaking) to jump from 2.8 stable to 3.2 stable, and working on the 3.4 (yeah, it looks like a crappy chip...
)
