Does anyone have a P5K Vanilla Vdroop mod? Also can you do these mods with a normal pencil?

Ok thanks and some quick questions:

1) Why is VDroop so bad?


2) Do I should shade in that area? To remove is for maybe RMA purposes..can I just erase it? (That's a serious question)

pencil marks can be wiped with your finger dude no worries

make sure you use 2B pencil though

2B? I was going to use a #2 HB pencil..or a .5 HB Mechanical pencil. Is that alright?

the vdroop is bad because its only 6 phase, thats why i switched mine out for a p5k-e since it uses an 8 phase power management.

I used a mechanical pencil and it worked perfectly.

it's not just that

i have an 8-phase P5B DLX WIFI and it vdrooped like mad......that is just the way they make them but a couple of strokes with a 2B pencil in the right spot will fix that

is set a vcore and other values and hit smallFFT Orthos for 5 minutes and looks at the Set Bios value > Windows Idle value > Windows Load value

DMM measured

and then do one stroke (system turned off)

go back into windows and repeat the test ( and play by ear )
the idea is to stop vdroop BUT pencil mod improved vdrop as well.... hence why i go stroke by stroke

i don't think you can do too many

but sometimes adding more will set you back with worse settings because the initial pencil markings get stuffed

you can also measure resistance with DMM but i'm such a n00b with the DMM i don't even know how to do that properly lol....my stupid DMM is not like my mate's Fluke....i have a load of settings to click on to get it right lol and his one's got 5 or 6 and you don't have to set it to specific range

Ok, thanks for all your help! I got the basic gist of things now. Set OC>Run Orthos test you mentioned>Check voltages>Add Strokes>recheck voltages.

you can use an earbud and some alcohol too if there's a dark spot but i don't think you can kill the mobo with that
