A question. When this die starts to fade will it discolour the water in the loop.

I would not think so.

When i was changing to the larger O-ring i used some grease to install it. I then used some alcohol to remove the grease afterwards and i noticed some black color on the towel i was using. So maybe if you wipe it with alcohol before use you avoid the fading of the dye?
