Looks great as always but for the price of an 8600GTS and that block you could probably get an 8800gts...

Welcome to another relevant Ranker post - please just try to get over yourself, stop hijacking threads and stop embarrassing yourself

but if you would like to get technical about my comment take 1 x 8600 block and 1 x 8800GTX block place them near each other and look - its smaller and one of the smallest EK fullcover EK blocks

Oh please try to get away with spouting off about how AC products are superior to those of EK/D-Tek/DD/Swiftech and the likes over on these forums instead of the misled few over on [H] forums and see the reception you'll find. I can't imagine another store owner that tries so hard to push a specific line of products and uses faulty reasoning behind it.

For anyone who enjoys a good, amusing read about the voracity of those that defend Koolance/Innovatek/Zalman/ and Aqua-PCs, please check out this thread. There's a vocal group that loves to spread misinformation (Top Nurse, Rick, Shoggy, Slame, etc). By their advice, we're all better off with AC products across the board: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1193634 Seems like only Arcygenical, ikellensbro, Erasmus, and Bio-Hazard are the few voices of reason in that thread.

I dont have time to read all 9 pages as its midnight here and i need to get up early for work tomorrow. However just a couple of points (please dont take this as a flame):

    1. I cant see Pascal (Aqua-PCs) saying AC products perform better than others. To quote him from that thread:

Thanks for your opinion Ranker but im pretty sure I didn't say that the Aqua-Computer blocks performed better then Fusion. What im saying from my experience as a retailer dealing with the blocks in question every day is that if you put a Cuplex XT next to a Fusion the Cuplex stands out more for design and quality. The Fusion will be a degree or two cooler then Cuplex agreed but if you read the first post you would have noticed the following:
    2. Regarding Pascal pushing only AC products - correct me if im wrong but i think Aqua-PCs are one of the largest re-sellers of EK blocks in the UK and im sure i remember reading loads of posts on these forums in favour of these from Pascal.

That's exactly what I told Eddy... Why buy a $200 video card and spend $100 on a waterblock for it when you could spend ~$250-$300 on an 8800GTS? Extra money spent on better hardware will almost always give you more of a performance increase than if you had put that money into cooling. This is especially true when you consider that the 8600 cards are cheap "mainstream" cards and that it isn't very likely that the people buying these cards are also going to be the type to drop $300+ on water cooling parts.

Sorta like how you can find EK 8800GTS blocks everywhere, but the GTX blocks are as rare as a leprechaun.

I love EK blocks, the curves in the channels of the blocks give an organic feel to computers.
