Yes default FSB is 200. 266 works fine though, so why would the pinmod help? What about this FSB strap thing. I see 133, 200 and 266. I've put it on 266.
EDIT : which pins to mod?

search for e4300 pinmod to 266fsb...there are threads here...i'll ask DFI if they can mod a bios to prevent these artificially low walls when running 200fsb cpus...bios updates can fix this...but pinmods have done so too on other boards with 200fsb cpus

damn, just can't get it to be stable much past 500fsb.

Going from 500fsb which I barely got stable but is now stable as a rock, trying for 515fsb, it has a hell of a time even posting, nevermind finishing it. Oh boy..

Can someone please tell me if there is a windows based flash utility for DFI? I don't have a floppy. Any way to do it from a CF card?

Yes, I think most people are. I think it only helps to stablize the power draw under heavy graphics load on the pci-e 16X slot for gpu's like 8800GTX or so. I've tested my board with a 7900GTX with it plugged & unplugged oc was stable just the same.

Try my bios settings a few posts back. Our rams may be somewhat similar. I really don't think you need to adjust your GTl, auto should be fine. My memory settings may be a bit tight so try 4-4-4-12-3-21-2-11-10-2-8-6-6-5-5-3

Hmm, guess I'll just stick at 7x500 and try to work down vcore. currently down to 1.45v.

One thing I noticed is that the mosfets are staying decently cool even under load

ziddey - are you running stock vNB...if not try it...also try remove mobo plug from the board if you use it...both vNB and the plug can affect fsb walls...
so test from stock vNB to higher with and without the plug.
watch how max fsb changes and go from there.

mobo plug? the floppy? I've tried both having that in and out. It's currently not plugged in. Also, I've tried vnb from 1.25 up to 1.45v. I use 1.35vnb at 500fsb just so that it'll not lock up at post half the time.

My chip is still FSB walling at 407. Will try for a pin mod. I have tried VNB up to 1.80 with no effect on the FSB wall and vcore up to 1.45. Basically when I go over 407 fsb it gets stuck in a continuous boot cycle without displaying anything. Im sure its not the board...

this is the 4 pin floppy above the PCI-E slot..I have 7300gt as this box is not for gaming...do you think the extra connector would casue an issue?

Man I have no luck with DFI boards lately

    I just setup a new DFI 965-S..stock vcore/speed with e6600
I removed the HS on NB..cleaned it up and and applied a very thin layerof AS5...stock NB voltage of 1.25= 48C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the heat transfer seems fine as the HS gets hot....

I don't read all the thread, but anyone has problems with the 2:3 memory ratio?

I can't get past 590 MHz with my memory at boot...

My ram is Crucial Ballistix Tracer Pc667 C3, that can do 550 MHz stable with 2,375 Volt (4-4-4-12 fast/fast) without problems...

I know that with my RAM, I can't set Enhance Addressing to FAST and get much higher than 400FSB. Once I set it to AUTO I'm able to go much higher. So far I'm stable at 515 and currently testing 522.

hmm what if you put a fan on the heatsink? temps come back down?

don't be afraid to use a thicker layer of thermal compound for the northbridge. generally, contact isn't always what it could be. Any excess would ooze off the sides of the die anyway

the layer I placed full covers the chip and is thick enough to cover the marking...the amount of TIM on this NB was nothing like the RD600 but it was like gum paste...literally sounded like I was tearing something when i remove the HS

I can go back and place more TIM..but always thought to much was no good

Mind there is heat transfer occuring as the HS get hot...again this is at stock voltage
