this is dumb, the more PS3's they sell, the more money they lose right now lol

When better games come later this year and a price cut, i think PS3 will improve.

may this trend continue till Sony's death

it kind of makes me sad. on one hand i am glad to see the PS3 tanking because i dont like it as a product. On the other the playstation has always been something i loved and i makes me sad to see the death of what was once so good.

This was probably obvious to all of us already
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

i give sony 3 more years before they are purchased... all of their products pretty much suck. Overpriced, under par features and build quality is going down the tubes.

The PS3 was a flop when they decided to shove blueray down everyones throat. HDCP issues and blaming it on the TV manf''rs instead of owning up to the problem on their end. If they would stick with the standard for it, it would work. People like Westinghouse and Sharp have gone out of their way to help sony resolve the issue, but claim the tv guys arent following the standard. lol

Youre kidding me right? Their XBR2 and 3 LCDs suck, have ghosting/clouding issues and cant touch the Sharp Aquos D92 series with a 10 foot pole! What critics are you referring to bud? And about the Bravia line out performing other brands, where are you getting this information? There would be alot of us getting a chuckle out of your post over at AVSFORUM

I love how they say that the PS3 was going to be the most godly thing ever. Then they admit it was the worst thing ever.

    great ,
i not only dislike sony for their overpriced goods . Their products may look nice from the outside but when you look further at the used technology it's not worth the price .
Their product support is one of the worst . keep your creditcard ready when you call them !
and they are way too full of themselves .

i just never ever buy sony products anymore since i called their support line a few times
    keep going Sony .

    Sony fanboi alert.

Seriously Sony cameras suck. Nikon and Canon cameras are far better.
    Canon Digital Rebel FTW!!!

Sony desereves to die for they way they treat people through awful tech support (at least in my country), and ridiculously overpriced products compared to their competitors.

Cybershots? Lol is this a joke?

TVs? Maybe you should pay a visit to AVSFORUM - OVERPRICED

I am so glad I went with the new SAMSUNG LEM86 (TULIP) 52" screen for 3600 Euros, instead of the 52" inch Sony for 5000 Euros while beeing a worse product in many ways. Why do they want me to pay 1400 more for a product that is worse?

Well it is time for all to know how cheatful SONY is and realise that their mistakes are not for us to pay.

NOTE: I never owned a SONY product.

No joke. My dad has one and it's crap. He was also talked in to buying a Sony Wega 50" LCD TV, god it needs to die in a fire. I show it to all my friends and they can't believe how bad it is. The picture is pixelated all to hell. Then I show them my 40" Panasonic LCD TV, which is 3 years older, and it looks years better than the Sony. And both TVs are on HD cable.

The good: Reproduces deep blacks with excellent shadow detail; picture stays true from off-angle compared to other LCDs'; myriad picture controls; resolves every detail of 1080p-resolution sources; superb connectivity with three HDMI inputs and a PC input; unique, eye-catching styling; optional designer-colored bezels.

The bad: Expensive; subpar picture via standard-def inputs; wider than many LCDs; no picture-in-picture.

The bottom line: Sure the high-end Sony KDL-40XBR2 offers a commendable picture with more tweaks than you'll ever use, but let's face it: style is this LCD's main weapon.

    Sony KDL-40XBR2 40-inch LCD HDTV

0702_edchoice_videoThe year 2006 marked a turning point — and I'm not referring to the recent congressional elections. I'm talking about the video performance of LCD TVs finally starting to catch up with other display technologies. As the first-ever LCD model to receive an S&V Editors' Choice award, Sony's KDL-40XBR2 ($3,500) racked up that honor by putting out a picture discerning viewers can hang their hats on. The biggest advancement here is in the set's handling of dark images: Even the gloomiest movies show rock-solid blacks and a high level of shadow detail. And the plentiful picture adjustments, including a variable backlight and flexible color-temperature and gamma settings, all pitch in toward achieving great performance. When you add features like 1080p resolution, automatic contrast enhancement for daylight viewing, and a side-panel HDMI input for plugging in a PlayStation 3, Sony's 40-inch LCD, while far from being the most affordable model in its size range, is definitely the most desirable.

I will give credit where it is due. I will also say that on the product which required complete innovation (LCD TVs and Cameras have a nice track record) they failed pretty completely. Mostly because of bad press, weird product decisions (I hate the fact that Blu-Ray is alive) and slow time to market.

Ok bobdole, we need to clear somethings here. When people here say their camera's suck, we refer to the mainstream segment, ala sub $300 cameras. This is an $800 camera in which the main design came from a Minolta model after sony bought the company. They added some additional bells and whistles, but thats about it. Minolta was a pioneer in cameras, no doubt about that.

And that TV, one site gave it 8.2 out of 10. I really do not want a $3000 item that I buy be rated 8.2/10. Not also that, but other sites give it as low as 7.

I am trying to be realistic here nothing personal
