    Re: Intel chipset driver 8.3.0.1011.
    There's an "intel_inf_8.4.0.1010 beta" available.
Intel Matrix Raid: "intel_msm_7.5.0.1017 Final WHQL"
    And JMicron driver "Jmicro_jmb36xx.1.17.17whql" .
    All at: www.station-drivers.com.
Could you post a screenshot of your Windows Device Manager, with these categories expanded:
    IDE/ATAPI Controllers
    SCSI and Raid Controllers
    System Devices
And, did you attempt to enable SATA "AHCI mode", either on JMicron or Intel port?
Note: if updating Intel Inf drivers, running the .EXE installer won't update to the newer drivers.
Must be manually updated for each device.

I looked over this post real quick as im on lunch break, any reason to upgrade to one of these from Bad Axe 2? I was comparing my 32m scores with Dinos's comparison of 3-3-3-9 and my scores were still a bit faster than this board.

So any real advantage? Besides DDR3 and Penryn? I will probably wait till penryns release and some new boards hit the market and go from there, but any input on this would be appreciated

Only if you want to be a beta tester on a non bug free bios.

don't comapre results yet as subtimings are always really loose during initial testing.............once i get memset it will be a different story and should be on par with your mobo (not faster i don't think)

Please check Ultra box when you need more FSB.

    or

Customize PLL N and PLL M
You can adjust the frequency range with PLL N and PLL M.

Could someone test "under" ratios or unlinked mode or what ever they call it on this mobo? ...it might be very useful to be able to set memory for example to 5:4 ...so fsb would be then 500MHz and memory 400MHz. If this works you could pretty much max out E6320 7x multi cpu, with not so good clockin´ cheap memory ...really wouldn´t wanna buy a 650i SLI mobo for this reason. Cheapest possible quality components and the highest possible OC ...isn´t that what this is all about.... atleast for poor students

I would like to see the board max fsb with some extreme cooling on the cpu, any chache testing that dinos?

I like your tests so far, nice work

that's not going to happen on P965 nor P35 >>> these chipsets don't support ratios under 1:1

max FSB is more of a CPU thing that motherboard i reckon >>> this E6600 seems max benchable around 520MHz FSB on air.................judging by my E6300 which went under dry ice and jumped another 30-35MHz i'd say it would probably be a similar case with this one

i don't understand cache testing question though

Oh i'm sorry, I ment chance
I would really like to see the power of the board's max FSB, I think i'll buy one to test @ the end of this month.

Does this board have 3-phase power? The p5k deluxe has 8-phase power, and the Gigabyte p35 dq6 has 12-phase power. Phases will obviously make the CPU voltage more smooth in delivery which is what quad cores need.

Ive not seen any specs concerning the p5k vanilla, but in the pictures Ive seen I can only see 3 PWM in the place where the higher end boards have their heatpipes.

Dinos check out SPDTOOL for changing the SPD on your ram. There's a thread on the forums for the tool somewhere on here.

Just one thing, does this board have droop, or do you just think it has droop? Drop != droop...I can attest to the droop mod being not only unnecessary but also unhealthy in the case of the Commando.

    do i just think??

i have supplied info that it has both drop and droop

drop >>> 1.35v bios set >>> 1.304-1.312 idle so there is considerable drop there

when i put it under load with SmallFFTs vcore droops to 1.28v (this is even after doing 2 strokes with 2B pencil which improved things as it used to droop to 1.24v

NOW these are all AISuite and CPUz figures so i have not yet double checked with DMM

so while i know there is droop i would still like to double check with DMM as soon as someone provides with read points

Heh, if you didn't check with a DMM, you didn't actually check anything at all.

But it does sound a bit less stable than the Commando.
