I agree with you on the feeling, you can definately notice it from an a64 with imc, to an intel c2d. It is kinda like this example.

a64 with imc = smooth like butter

heh! Paired with proper budget memory (like crucial D9GMH ) it is a very nice platform ...
And for me at least, overclocking on AM2 is simpler than on 939, mostly due to better scaling of DDR2 memory, but also you can't buy older CPU revisions for this socket (which is good).

Oh yea big difference in Encoding Video thats it!

Couldn't this just be some sweepstakes for when R600 is comming out, and the "Comming Soon" is referring to when you can enter the sweepstakes, rather than it being R600 + K10 + AM2+ release comming soon.

Seems much more likely that its some sweepstakes than K10\AM2+ launch.

I really hope AMD starts selling directly to the consumer. This market is evergrowing, and AMD needs to do everything they can to gain back control of this market.

AMD needs to make their numbers look much better for next quarter, and maybe this is one way they can do that...that would be awesome IMHO.

Placebo anyone? If you can notice that few nanosecond difference in latency, you should be out catching bullets or something

lol come on, its very noticable coming from a opty 165 @2.6Ghz with ddr 530 2-2-2-4 timings. Making a e6600 3.6Ghz and 1600FSB did very little to help this.

If you want to see a really big diff, in the seconds, just tax the intel , and tax the amd, then open a browser, or play music.

    Test done.

dang it people can't there be a thread about one CPU mfr and something they are offering without the other getting shoved in? Yes, we all know the C2D is more powerful than the A64 already....

Please, back on topic, which is AMD's "get all 3" thing.

I would feel so special having three chips from AMD in my machine. I'm guessing CPU, mobo, graphics.

Or would that be more like 5 or 6?

I'd say atleast 5 for the mobo alone

Do you realize the logistics effort that would take? It would end up costing us more.

Distribution channels exist for a reason - because it saves money.
