if you can run with it on, then definitely use it. it does give a little boost to memory bandwidth. but most people turn it off, so either way

Been a long time since I overclocked anything... like celeron 300 days. I recently picked up a 6320, p5b-e, antec true-power, g.skill 2x2GB modules and asked for some advice over on the [H] which I followed here:http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1187580
After trying everything I could, reading the threads here at XS and even a little voodoo, 2 sacrificed chickens and several shouted expletives, I was nowhere closer to success.
The system will boot into windows just fine at 360fsb(as a first test), it'll run 3dmark, prime95 etc... however, xp64 can't connect to the internet successfully. Low level stuff works, ping tracert dns etc, but nothing higher up the TCP stack works at all.
I've tried a terrific combination of voltages and FSB speeds, going all the way down to 290 and still having the same weird internet connectivity issue. I've tried pushing the chipset voltage way up, same results. At stock the machine works perfectly.
Any thoughts? I have a sneaking suspicion that the mobo may be bad, but i'm not 100% sure about the 4gb of ram or even my choice of CPU. I've got time to exchange any of the parts for other recommendations(minus the restocking fee of course)
Did you lock the PCI clock at 33MHz?

you try different pcie configurations? 100? 105? 110?
how about a bump to vich, although that shouldn't be necessary.
Can you try clearing the cmos. Running stock to see if it's gone. Disable the pci lock if it's enabled. Boot again. Then reenable it. Then try moving fsb up again?
I know my p5b had an issue with graphics getting stuck at x1 the first time I started o/cing. but a combination of vnb adjustment and forcing it to x1 and then unforcing it causes it to be x16 no matter what now.
edit: I know this is almost certainly incorrect, but have you tried a reinstallation? I don't know if I'd think it's necessarily a floating pci, since at around 360, if you didn't have a lock, you should have already lost sound and at 360 or so, start to lose sata as well.

all righ, for those of you, whos having issues with running 4:5 ram divider and tryin' to achive 1000MHz memory speed, here is the trick.
ya' all know p5b-dlx mobo has issuw eith memory control/management... thats a fact. this is even worse whent it comes to 4:5 divider!![]()
so IF u wanna get 1GHz ram speed, no matter what kind of memory u have (800+, 1066, etc...) the only way to make it stable if u leave the timings by SPD!
DO NOT SET manually the timings!!![]()

it will be automaticall 5-5-5-15 2T and will work like a charm...
i know, i have been messing around to get 1GHz RAM speed for week, tryin' almost all the posssible BIOS settings/timings, testing them for hours, at the end of the day it froze, bsod whatever....
now i am running 100% stable at 1000MHz cl5!![]()

hi everyone. i have some problems with my p5b deluxe wifi-ap.
It's runing 0910 bios version with a e4300, so now i'm trying to ran a e6420, but i can't. The monitor's led stand in green color but it "parpadea" like as the bios is with and incorrect config setting. I don't kwon if you understand me. i kwon that my vga which is msi nx7950gx2 its ok, ram which is 2gb of corsair xms2 ddr2 800 4=4=4=12 its ok too, and the core2duo its ok too beacuse me friend who had it and it's a verywell overlocker chip, it does 4.0ghz with 1.55vcore settein in bios...
anyone kown.... some people told me that i must to fulsh the bios to 1004 or 1101, tomorrow i'm going to get a d805 to flash then i post the result

I have 5 sata-drives and a sata dvd-burner, to which ports to I connect them? The Windows-disk to SATA port 1 and the dvd-burner to port 2?

I really don't think it makes a difference. The black ports are for data drives, what ever the means. Just make sure you have the boot drive set up correctly in the bios.

You need to put both sticks in the same color slots.

fill up the intel ones first, then plug the dvd drive into the jmicron. dont trust the jmicron for data.
The problems I'm having are kind of hard to isolate, but they only seem to be happening, to my knowledge, when I'm attempting to overclock my system. I have an E6600 with a P5B-Deluxe (1101 BIOS) and am trying to run it at 400x8 for a relatively easy overclock. Orthos reports this as stable over several attempts of 8+hrs, and heat doesn't seem to be an issue (P182 case with good cooling, Tuniq Tower for CPU).
The problem is a bit hard to describe so I'm posting it to see if anyone else has had it, since I can't find much about it at all.
Basically, when I'm using Firefox, certain pages don't seem to load properly. They'll load 1/2 way, or will not load the CSS but will load the page data. Other than that everything seems fine but that problem itself is quite annoying.
Anyone know what the problem is likely to be? I don't have any of the voltages in the 'red' range in the BIOS, can post them if need be.

I'd feel the same way if it weren't for the fact that the problem doesn't seem to appear when I set my BIOS for defaults (9x266 etc). Any good pieces of software to test peripherals for stability? The core seems stable and the machine runs fairly nicely at 8x400, but I'd like to see if I can isolate the problem a bit more.

I like to run Orthos and 3DMARK06 at the same time. I have my volts set in the bios at (If I remember correctly) 3.785. (Maybe 3.875) I been running 24/7 for a good while now. But, I use speedStep so when idle or low load the Vcore is much less. But, I have stressed my computer for several days when I was out of town. I ran Orthos and looped 3DMARK06 for 3 days.
Take a look at the Reliability and Performance Monitor in the control panel, it may provide some information.
