btw have to say that PCB is one ugly joe. personally i whould have wanted something sexier.. black PCB would have been so much nicer..... why asus why!!!!!

Damn the board looks friggin sweat. I was about to get a P5N32-E SLI PLUS, but then decided to wait for DFI 680i or MSI P6N Diamond. But now i might put this on the top of the list. I really want eSATA, but the lack of PS2 mouse is killing me

There exist PS2 "Y" splitter cords which SHOULD be able to allow using both PS2 mouse and keyboard. However, a USB mouse works better, from my experience.

On the deluxe model the Ram slots are a bit closer to the Gfx card "virtual" line than they used to be on P5B D...
It looks to me that we are gonna have some trouble with clearance between gfx with long pcb's and clasps on the ram slots when opened...

    Did some

    RAM TESTING

i've discovered that FSB <292MHz only gives basic RAM ratios that you get on P965 and FSB 292MHz> gives you the full RAM Ratio range

I haven't really tested for speed against P965 yet as i don't have memset to see what all timings are doing and i also need to know all the voltage measurement points >>>> but from initial tests it looks like it's on par with P965

no major tweaks 'cept for LargeSys and no RAM tweaking yet but for CAS 3 vs 4 vs 5 i did have all the timings set in bios

4:5 RATIO WORKS PROPERLY NOW >> haven't tested for max clocks yet (time is a bit whacky because i used a much slower hard drive here....so don't compare to other results below)

    TESTING CAS3 vs CAS4 vs CAS5

    PC10000 Dominators at CAS4 (4-4-4-x ~2.45v)

it seems it's about the same as P965 as i have one board topping out at 590MHz 4-4-4-x and another 600MHz 4-4-4-x >>> This P35 chipset mobo can do ~597MHz roughly but would not complete 8M 600MHz so i moved on (some more RAM tweaking may change that)

Dino, did ya say that the voltage damper did or did not lowered the v-core drops?

voltage damper does not affect anything

i've tried ON, OFF, AUTO, even played with all the reference values and still the same drop...............

i think it's 3-phase which means it will run cooler but may struggle with 65nm quads a bit >>>> 45nm should be easier on the system which this board supports

excellent.. thanks for the ram tests.
i still would have wanted that you would have tested your ram with other programs too such as sandra ... but take your time, i'm in no hurry. i do understand that doing these kinds of overviews/tests takes time

    Nice dinos!

Just posting something as a comparison to 965. The p35 looks a little slower. No tweaks were done when I ran this.

it could be that the subtimings on P35 are looser but yeah very similar anyways

[EDIT]-actually those subtimings in memset are pretty tight hence why the difference

i hate sisoft passionately you will not see me post a screenshot of that program that's for sure : hahha

yeah there is a lot to test which i will let other people do

my primary interest and concern on systems is motherboard and RAM tweaking and SuperPi testing..........this is just massive self indulgence for me and it's nice that there are others that i can share it with

just got a new biatch to test
