Xeon X3220 same as a Q6600

L640F058

3.375 @ 1.37V real
Load Temps: 53C across all 4 cores.

<i'll post pics once i get a long enough bionic time>

on EVGA 680i

Kinda bum'd i wanted 3600, but it takes about 1.5V real to get her stable. And temps are a bit too high for my liking.

Strange thing with cpu-z, it reports my 3220 as quad @ 2.4
but under core speed it reports 1600.0 MHz and the Multiplier @ X6.0

I tried version 139 and 140 cpu-z with same results also same in Everest

In bios its fine. Any thoughts?

commando's are also good motherboards for high fsb ...
even without the vdroop mod i hit 4.1 ghz pretty easy...not to sure if i would leave the cpu at that speed 24/7 though as they do pump out sum heat...but 3600 mhz 24/7 use is a breeze.

Can't seem to get 7x445. 7x440 is stable, but 445 needs a lot more Vcore. Might just leave it, 3080mhz is pretty good for a quad, but i wanted more, heeh.

dude cooling this quad down is seriously NO JOKE.

my quad crunches 24/7. Their was no other reason why i bought it. It was for WCG, for this forum.

I dont want to stress her at 60+ 24/7.

my room is kinda hot right now. ambients around 75F as we speak.

yeah and the Commando, of course good 965 boards takes quad core beyond 450fsb as well, but eVGA 680i is a good choice for people who want quad core + sli, multi GPU + good quad core oc ing dont relaly give u much choice ...

hmm what stress program did u use? prime 95? blend? large? or small? for me below 70 is acceptable i guess .. its like my E6600 at 1.56v set in bios , 1.5v orthos large = about 48C after couple hours, but when i game its usually at high 30's like 39C ... so u know high 60's during stress should be like in the 50s during gaming

Boinic. WCG. Its like F@H, only you can pick a lot more projects.

And it loads my cores at 100%.

Also i load up my cores at 1.5V i see temps near 70's

only 70's? hmm cuz i am shooting for 3.6GHz 1.5v as well ... Bionic only srtess about same as blend ... large is a bit more, and small ftt is even more at least on my E6600 on orthos

and since they will be $266 Q3 ... might as well burn 1 cuz Yoskfeild should launch Q4, Q1 08 ...

I guess I've been spoiled with my 28B. This Q6600 needs 1.55v for 3.6.. I was hoping around 1.45v.. This is a L647F batch. I'm thinking of picking up a different one tomorrow.

Ok, I picked up a L638A666 and it can do 3.6 @ 1.5v. A little better, but not by much.

Can you run speedfan or tat and report the temps you're seeing @ 8x400 for each core?

I have mine at 3.2GHz (400*8) with 1.4v manually set in the BIOS. I haven't messed around with it much though so I will get more information soon.

Guys, you are all seriously tempting me to grab one of these to play with now they are so much cheaper. Either this or a Xeon X3220 - any reason the Xeon may clock better, or is there really no difference?
System Specs:
Core i7 2600k
Asus Maximus V Gene
4x2gb G-Skill Ripjaw 2133mhz
MSI Radeon R9 290X
Asus Xonar Essence STX
2x Crucial M4 256gb RAID 0
Seagate 7200.12 3TB HDD
Corsair AX860i.

Watercooling Specs
EK Supreme HF, XSPC EX360, XSPC EX240, DDC Ultra w/aquacomputer top, Aqualis XT res, Kryographics 290X GPU block

Hi..I think you will find if you do a simple vdroop mod you will keep your cpu at 3.6 ghz with 1.5 vcore...as the Commando's or mine anyway has a Huge Vdroop under load....

also just try to set fsb to 401 not 400 and see how you go...Mine wont boot windows at between 375 and 400 ..yet from 401 boots up to 455 with 9x multi. 1.6vcore at the 455 fsb.
you can take a look at some simple images here.. http://www.hwbot.org/user.do;jsessio...B3?userId=8636

while your there read up on other peoples Hardware with there commando and volt settings...

q6600 @ 9x333, vcore 1.3250 in BIOS, 1.232v in speedfan (load) and 1.260v in speedfan (idle). Mild but 2x orthos stable for >5 h and counting. P5B-Del.

Got a reply all ready for this, and then XS went down, so here it is now

This is just on my Q6600 3ghz at 1.44v loaded (simply because I can't get past 337fsb with my mobo).

Running WCG

Small FFT

Large FFT

So WCG at least gets it hotter than Large FFTs, if it doesn't stress it more.

Ok guys, quick question, what should we trust for temps, i know coretemp is like 12c higher than speedfan and other temp monitoring programs.
