well the one I was just running was L629B367 which I was running at 3.3ghz with 1.43 Vcore any higher the voltage would be through the roof
also had a L638F050 and it was crap .. don't even remember what I had
My L709A442 is running at 3.6 with 1.48v loaded small fft's 8 hours
currently running blend to see if she is stable .. just knocked the voltage down one step and she crashed after 3 min
Get a commando P965 Board or how are the new DFI P965 boards doing
Depends really if you get a good chip or not .. also depends how much voltage you want to give your cpu, with the newer batches lately some have been OCing well some haven't, how is your luck ?![]()
I can sell you a brand new E6600 not opened, I ordered two thinking I would get different batches but turns out they shipped me two of the exact same chip
I have posted my OC's so far above
If you want to run 3.6 400x9 with a 1:1 ratio your ram is fine but if you want to run 4:5 probably a no go considering you mentioned above you cannot reach 1000mhz .. so if you reached 3.6 and wanted to push it further you probably do not have much headroom .. If looking to upgrade your ram find some nice D9 chips from G skill, Team group .. the list go's on
EDIT: ah whoops did not see what ram you had .. yeah maybe upgrade to some DDR800 D9 chips .. my Team Group can do 1000mhz easy with stock volts or less
Well there is a lot of good help here on the forum, keep on truckin![]()
