Guess I won't give up on my quad gt just yet then. Is the stock cooling enough for 1.6v mch though? I really don't want to burn anything up for a few extra mhz.

u might want to keep an eye on ur PWM temps. Those will hover around 100 during load at like 3.8.

some air cooling from a 40 mm fan will help a lot!

on the cooling i took the stock off and put as5 on the NB area

for the pwm area i cut the little plastic from teh corners and put the little black squares back on (if you take it off youllknow what im talking about) then i put as5 on the pwm guys and put everything back on

its alot cooler, my pwms didnt go above 60c with a 4.0ghz oc on it

A 40 mm fan? LOL! Check this:

1,55V, AS5 on NB and PWM + Nexus DF1209SL-3 (1500 RPMs) on the PWM and I have 47-50*C in IDLE. The room temp is normal, something like 22-25*C.

but of course...you have it in a case.

i am averaging 40-45C at idle in a case...without my fan tied to the PWM cooler, it would be in the 50's for a quad core...it does help...a 40 mm turning-blowing at 6.7k does help!...when i prime all 4 cores, you should see the temps double up...if it were not for the fan, they would be in the 125C category.

I've spent about 4 hrs messing around with voltage settings in uguru to see what is limiting my oc. I gradually lowered a voltage at a time until the system would fail orthos. I found I was able to lower all my voltages but mch. At 470fsb I could not drop my mch below 1.6v or orthos would crash imediately. I may do a vmch mod or get a 6420 with 8x multi. Was hoping to hit 500fsb though, my cpu and ram can do it.

Well, of course... not in a case.

6700 RPM is to insane for me, sorry. I'm waiting a pair of 60 mm fans, with RPM in the 2000-3000 range. I want to see what double fan can do.

this 6.7k is not a screamer like the delta fans were...this is only 15 or 18 mm thick...but...it produces enough air flow to take the heat away.

The LAN issue is solved. I have a thread on it at the abit forums and will have another BIOS release in the near future that improves performance.

That's nice and the area I am looking to land in with an E6320. The quad GT supports the E6320, doesn't it?

I used my fat body's on the Quad GT. I ran them up to 2.75v for fun.

Didn't get anything spectacular. I got up to about 520mhz at 4-3-2. Not too bad. Can't speak of the vdroop or anything though.

I am a tad confused. Where have you fellows been applying Arctic Silver 5? The area under the copper heat sink in the picture below, or the area under the black plastic strip?

I have a QuadGT incoming for my E6320. I plan on using some AS5 or AS thermal adhesive on it as needed and wanted to clear up the exact problem area.
