Ugh, the so the 8 LED yates I just purchased won't be enough for my PA120.3 and my MCR-220QP? I have both rads on push/pull configs. I have Sharkoon Golfballs on the inside of the rads and would like to put LED fans for the spots where they face the outside of my U2 case. Is there no point then and should I get the M's instead?

Yup, except that the fan blades aren't textured--they're smooth, like the rest of the fan housing. For the time being, we only have the D12SM-12's in black, though.

    Erm... well... ehh...

...Quoc decided to ship your order out before he left this evening, since he was going by the post office anyway. I guess we're a little too fast sometimes...
So the D12SM-12's I ordered are black with blue LED's? Will you be carrying the ones that look like that up top for the same fan speed? Also when do you think you'll get the M and H speed LED yates in?

Anyhow, thanks for the quick shipping. I can always find a place for these.

I would. Ms will cool much better....probably 3 or 4 degrees at least.

You ordered these (blue LED D12SL-12's): http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1blle.html

    Here are the D12SM-12's: http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa1.html

After re-checking the information that Yate Loon sent to Quoc, they can do the M's in the translucent blue w/LEDs but there may be vibration issues due to the type of plastic used. Consequently, it would probably be best if we just left well enough alone there (especially considering that the blue LED D12SL-12's run slightly slower than the regular D12SL-12's, apparently, to keep vibration down).

Sounds like Petra's really needs to work on their customer satisfaction. I bought 4 SL's from Petra's to put in my fan panel of my Stacker 830, and just sold the case along with the fans to an employee of mine. I bought 4 SM's to replace them, and I'll be running them through a Sunbeam fan controller. I'll let you guys know how they work out. I couldn't believe my SL's, the only way I could hear them was putting my ear next to the side panel, and even then it was nothing more than a faint, low pitched wind noise. Whew, i still can't believe that package got here from Petra's in 5 days!
    you wanna talk about service??

They give me a darn pen almost every order!!!! not to mention almost 3 days garuentee'd. I guess thats what i get for living only 300 miles from them. But still!! people like you make standards on other stores much higher!! BAD BAD!!!

you know we really love ya alex and quoc!!!.. And i also spent probably close to 1g on that store. most likely gonna spend more when my UFO gets shipping confimations.

Is there much difference in noise level between the 28dba yates and 32dba yates?

ahahhaaha.. masaville is learning the true power of a yate.

i honestly cant hear the difference between full and downvolted.

The PSU makes more noise then that, and i have a Antec Neo branded seasnoic.

The SilenX are actually 14dBa, but measured from further away and I'm not sure if there is a industry standard of how noise levels should be measured?

Surely they would be done for mis advertisment if they basically lied? The above is what I heard anyways.

Not happy about what has been said about the paspts, got 5 of those coming next week and someone said they have motor noise :-(

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

Any fan look up its true specs. The ones from manufactures. Under voltage they might list a range. Like 9.6V to 13.8V is quite common for these fans. They test CFM at 13.8 then, and DBA at 9.6v

Ah ok. Thanks for clearing it up. I think I'll be fine then with my push/pull config on both of radiators. I figure those fans will be just for looks anyhow while my Sharkoon Golfball 2000's will handle the real cooling duties.

Anyone know if a Sunbeam Rheobus can handle 3 yates or 3 sharkoons on one channel?

We're looking into the Silverstone fans, at the moment (besides, I've been meaning to get an account with them anyway because I want their cases)... The others, however, we haven't decided on.

Hold up a Silenx Xtrema Pro and a Yate side by side and listen. If the Silenx is 14dba and yate is 32dba I'm a monkey's uncle!!!! lol

The Yate must be 10dba lol. Or maybe the Silenx is 40dba? heh

they actually make a ticking noice, if you downvolt them too low.

I've now got mine hooked into the onboard fan controller & it adjusts nicely when I boot into my O/C'ed partition - operating between 5V to 12V. They seem to push a huge amount of air if you have the high flow version - still, I would like to hear from cathar about their flows if he had tested them against these yates

Tell me you know that dB is logarithmic... Sorry, I just like picking :P
BTW ppl, 14 dba is 10^1.8 quieter than a medium yate, and I really don't know how the hell they got 14dba, because you have to be in like a soundproof chamber or something to get a reading that low. Hey, I know how the silenXs are 14dba, they turn them off!

Well it seems that SilenX has won the fake ratings award, their fans are 100 times louder than they claim, thermaltake's fans are "only" about 30 times.
