2007 sure is a good year for consumers. Intel will cut prices april 22. And again in Q3. AMD will follow that too in Q3...its a win/win for us

That 4800+ looks very attractive. I could set it up with a $50 mobo and $100 ram and I got a nice setup there for less than $500.

Amazing prices! I wonder how much will Intel reduce their CPU prices to have competitive mid and low performance dualcore desktop CPUs.
I also noticed s940 Opteron 290/890 on AMD official pricing list.
Anyway their mobile Athlon64 are very expensive and more expensive than the Turion64 X2.

    @Cooper
There is a typo in the price list table: X2 4400+ 3.0GHz

ya since a few days the 65nm x2 3600 costs 64 euro boxed wich is a damn nice price for a CPu that clocks nicely.

add a cheap board and some cheap ram and Like Ahmad says you can have a damn nice pc for a cheap price.

Prices at the egg are unchanged as of right now.
    +1 on the 4800 brizy-for a sff box.
Overall savings vs c2d are only realized when pairing with inexpensive mobos.
Performance addicts (most here) won't buy it even it's only $50.
    That's kinda scary
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case

I'm mostly curious to see just how low that 3600 will go at retail.
Probably be some very interesting mobo/cpu package deals coming up!

man, the prices are going way low ... is it possible?
like, its nice for us, but I feel bad about AMD, whats the point doing this?
Is it really that MARKET SHARE-THING? This must be some bigger strategy, and its concerning what AMD has to do to "keep up" with Intel today, I hope the K10 will be released ASAP ...
Sometimes a good slap in the face is all you need

    Bios my arss.....
I can fix this problem with a hardware mod....

    I can't believe the price/performance ratio of the X2 3600+ it's simply... WOW!

AMD is going for Market share and by god they are going to be getting it
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Well, if they are losing market share even with the price cuts, think about how much more market share they would lose if they don't cut prices. I wonder how much R&D and retooling it costs to do MCM, cuz if K10 is more than half a year away, if AMD come out with a stop gap quad core (with two Brisbanes) and sell it for $200-250, they should get back quite a bit of market share from the video editor and renderer segments.
