    CPU VTT: 1,2-1,5V.
    MCH 1,25V: 1,25-1,65V.
    ICH 1,05V: 1,05-1,2V.
    ICHIO 1,5V: 1,5-1,6V.

My thought about the board beeing the problem started when I tried 400*7 and 400*8 and it didn't even light the screen. The CPU is tested, holds 3200 MHz. Any thoughts about this?

PS: Currently running BIOS 1.0. Any beta or modded BIOSes around here?
E4300s often do not run as fast as the other conroes do.

I passed 1m @ 490 mhz rather easily on this board... the CPU seemed to FSB wall there though

Nope, no Norton around here. Just NOD32, Winblowz Firewall, Y!M 7, Winamp 5.32 and Core Temp 0.95. And the CD drivers for mobo - may these be a problem? The rest of the drivers are already tested for a few months: 84.21 for my 7900GT, DX 9.0c February 2007 (only recently tested ) and some A4Tech drivers for mouse and keyboard.

Not working at 400*6, 400*7 or 400*8, the screen doesn't even light up. And I know more than a bunch of guys who OC-ed it to at least 100%.
PSB 800 or 1066 tested allready. My memories are some Team Xtreem TXDD512M800HC4 (D9GMH inside I believe) and can do nice things @ 2,6V (with Memset, only for SuperPi testing):

So does this B6R bios offer performance enhancments over the B6 bios?

I'm on B02 still as my board has worked fine from day one... so im only going to update the bios if it overclocks better or performs better. So it seems B7 isnt for me... B6R might be though... LMK, thanks.

korby it looks like it's a file that a driver has a dependency on, and not an actual driver. Sorry I don't know more.

^That is either driver conflict or memory instabilty IIRC....

I can't remember why, but ive had it before. I think it was either my memory wasn't stable or my bios didn't support my creative soundcard. Most likely the latter.

Make sure you have the latest drivers, disable any devices you aren't using, uninstall any hardware thats no longer in your computer. Maybe run a driver cleaner and reinstall all your drivers fresh. Make sure you have the latest intel INF files, etc, etc.

Finnaly, if this is not a fresh install of windows, you may want to consider reinstalling.

Thanks, that's exactly what I found after my search. Fresh Winblowz here.

I use the integrated soundcard, I don't need more than that. Like I already said, I have the boards drivers froms the CD, the rest of them are already tested and working just fine. The BIOS is optimized, removed any unused devices. What Inthe INF files?

    Thanks you both.

PS: Another "problem" with the board. it makes a little noise, a little buzz like a coil-noise from a PSU, that increases with load, CPU frecvency and voltages. This noise comes from the NB-CPU area.

for quad cores, it is day and night difference from the performance aspect...if you have a quad, i would recommend the upgrade to B6R.

Curious are there still many bugs with this board or is it more or less the jmicron with sata dvdr and quadcore/vista c1e issues ?

that's basically all the problems that there have ever been.
& with appropriate selection of BIOS for your usage you can avoid/resolve them - e.g. I have a SATA optical (from when I had a DS4) & don't use RAID so mine has run fine since day 1 on the release BIOS.

    which exact issue?
If you mean running RAID on ICH8R with something on the JMicron that was fixed in B06.
B07 reportedly fixes the issue where you couldn't run a SATA optical on the ICH8R with an array also on it.
as a Beta though it will probably have C1/EIST off though if that bothers you - maybe Richh will do a B07 "R".

Just a general note for trouble saving.

I don't care what Intel board you have make sure install the Intel chipset inf ASAP after the OS and before anything else.

It may be there a problematic memory slot. The system now has the biggest uptime in his life (a.k.a. 5 days): 6 hours straight playing Warcraft 3 (the ultimate test ).

I guess you referring to me... sorry for the delay.

No, I am running Windows WP Pro 32-bit.

I have tested to boot @ 480x6 into 'fail safe mode' (my translation) and that does work. But still, nothing above 434MHz FSB works when booting normal.

I have tried ever 5MHz interval from about 440MHz to 490MHz with 6,7 and 8 multiplier.

Also, I reseated the NB-cooler and put a fan on it. No difference.

I have ran my mems @ +500MHz 4-4-4-4 (with divider) on this board so it should be able to handle to atleast boot @ +434MHz 5-5-5-15.

I am running out of ideas. The only thing I can think of that it is either something wrong with my installation of XP or the board.

EDIT: This text is edited @466x6, RAM 1:1 4-4-4-4. I have booted into failsafe mode with network support. I will try a fresh installation of WinXP now.

    Water-cooling on CPU & NB (+8C yesterday).
I've once tried my max. FSB (515MHz) and yesterday I wanted to test some 3D-stable.
I'm still thinking when to do vMCH-mod + vDroop, someday.

Well, just reinstalled windows and now I can boot at atleast 480*8 with aircooling.

boble76: So far I have thought that the only necessary mods are the vMCH-mod and vDroop. Have you found any other limit regarding the volts yet? I have not been able to test that much until now...

Has anyone changed the thermal compound beneath the PWM heatsink? I changed it with AS5, mounted it with screws and now the temp are something like: 56, 73, 67, 65 & 54*C. Before this I had something from 40*C to almost 50*C and they were very stable. Now it's like this.

I did but no AS5 i put Zalman thermal paste and removed everything on heatsink completely so is the thermal compound touching the heatsink, mine temps are below 50
