Thank you sooo much for replying. Would you hgappen to know why the nF4 based board runs so well? Is it because the memory controller is on the chip itself? I mean 600MHz DDR is really great.

If you could have got the NF590 would you have got this over the Infinity? I would save almost $100 by getting the Inifinity SLI-M2. most important to me is the best overclocking platform and one which might be future AMD AM2 socket CPU ready.

You mentioned the Epox 580 board do you know this board is Opteron friendly?

i just got the board just to check out am2 cpu and test ddr2 ram and the board turned out to be a good clocker but if i wanted all the bells and whistles i would have bought a nf590 but i look at alot review sites and saw that the asus was beating out dfi by maybe 5 to 10% but asus cant run optys so i left it alone..but you can get the dfi nf590 there nothing wrong with it and as for the epox iguess it just came out so i haven't seen any reviews yet. you should also look into those 4x4 boards for the future since they can run optys and quad cores later on and have a 8 core system and be done with it

i am back in the gpu race. i dont know why people fall for sli this, thing is so fast i cant run nfs underground it just moves to quick i was gonna wait for ati but there taking to long anyway any records i should shot for with this amd 3500+ cpu with this thing

i guess im doing something wrong im still getting 30k in 3dmark 01 and i got that with my aiw x1900

see i can only get 35k and im oc to 630/1055 with a ati aiw x1900 i was able to get 30k i was expecting a large jump and i reinstalled the drivers to the lastest

Are you SURE you removed ALL the drivers from your old video card?

Friend of mine had a similar problem, reinstalled Windows, and went from like 11k in 3DMark01 to like 22k.

already got the CFX 3200? you posted a pic of it and told something about a week

want to upgrade to AM2 and i'm looking for the best board with the 580x chipset...

I'm going to be getting that board (DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G) this weekend or next depending on my paycheck. After I have everything put together I'll be happy to post overclocking results.

3.2 is stable so far and i added another cooler. im trying to find a good water cooler for the pwm any suggestions

asus does in fact support am2 opteron

with the latest bios of course

i dont see their high performance boards supporting them though

and my 5600 seems to be good

liquid3d asus supported the opteron with a bios updtate... didnt you checked ??? .... with bios 0903.. but too late i guess

and btw aint crossfire a top end board option? ..... dual pci-e 16X etc...

funny how the dfi sets their mem timings so tight it can boot @ 400div over 300htt sometimes its just to tight i was ready to curse these mem sticks until i opened systool

things are looking up i dont really have the time to post 800 benches if theirs something you would like to see just post it, memory wise i will go higher
