    Thanks, you're very welcome !

As soon as I get more information about K10 I'll update this 1.39.
A new CPU is not that common

    Hey,
I am also sorry for digging up an old thread but........
Every time I try to validate a cvf file, it says uploaded OK then it says
    "file corrupt"

I have redownloaded it but still no luck.
I cannot use an older version as it tells me that is out of date, I should upgrade.

    Any help?

    Thanks
    Jon

    Hi,
can you check if the size of the cvf is zero ?
This is unfortunately a side effect of the anti-fake protection, in some very rare cases it tends to be "too efficient" :-(

No, the size is not zero.
In windows explorer it says the size is 1KB, but if I check "Properties" of the file, then the size is 4.00 KB

    while we're pointing out oddities...

a friend an i were having fun last night, came up with this:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=178496

    but the bus broke

and the TRP is zero.. apparently repeatable:

also, get the F3 revision chips displaying their revision properly

This is not weird at all, this is C1E / EIST.

    THIS is weird
Could it be the system to be instable and make cpuz turn fool ? Does this happen at stock speeds (or at least at lower speeds) ?

sorry, but that's not it, everything similar to that has been turned off in BIOS before I even started OCing, I heard about that function and ruled it out immediately, maybe it's CPU-Z?

EDIT: Orthos, coretemp report correctly. and my cpu loads at 54C at this speed, and if it were on 2.5Ghz it would load on much lower temps

EDIT2: checked it out in BIOS now, C1E is disabled, even the virtualization technology is turned off, there is no EIST in there either, I really don't know why this happens, but it started happening after coming to 3.8GHz, at 3.7 I didn't see such problems, any other ideas?

    Please do the following :
save a register dump, and copy the following line in the post :

    Code:
    MSR 0x000001A0 edx = 0x00000040	eax = 0x60972489
    Thanks.

wow, thnx alot, is it possible that it is named another way in the BIOS? (goes to search the whole BIOS)
and can I ask how did you know that EIST was enabled?

EDIT: I can't find a setting which would disable it (EIST), any ideas? (I posted a question at the RD600 forum too)

    You're welcome.
EIST is bit 25 of eax register (here it is 0), and EIST is bit 16 (here it is 1).
If you're running XP, you can go in control panel -> power option and set the scheme to Home/Office desktop. It will disable EIST transitions (but EIST bit will keep being set).
You can use a MSR editor to change the value of bit 16 (CrystalCPUID includes one). In your case, you have to set it to :

    Code:
    MSR 0x000001A0 edx = 0x00000040	eax = 0x60962489
BIOS could also do that, look for something that includes "speedstep" word.

thnx, I'll try and do sth, and btw. the power option was already set to home/office and I tried always on (read on intel's site it will stop eist) but no change. now I tried 3.7GHz and EIST doesn't activate, the multi stays 9, that's what is strange to me...

EDIT: got cpuid, but when editing I copy your what you wrote to 'WRMSR' and click on the button, then I click the 'RDMSR' button and there's no change, I made another registers dump, and there's no change there either?

With my P4d 945 and before CPU-Z always showed the correct voltage but with my e6600 running at 1.36v this is what is displayed? It never changes.
