My vx2's, well one stick is bad gives errors even on stock speeds and timings and since I removed a hs I can't rma it. That's why the low ram clocks. Got 2x512 geils which did 1044 5-5-5 on my ds3 but they don't like the p5w dh it seems. Dirty xp sp2, no maxmem no copy waza just diagnostics mode and real time. Will try to better myself this weekend though, but not sure what to do... either try again with the vx on low speeds cas3 or try with the geils on higher mhz but very relaxt timings ( powerchip ic's I been told ).

That's my opinion on the matter, it's your thread though.

4000.0MHz is fine in my book. 4003.6 isn't, so I'll give Xavier a day or so more for a rebench before removing his score. Note that his was the last score above 4000MHz that I added.

MartianInvader- that's actually pretty impressive for the low memory speed.

I never noticed a difference with diag mode, but some say it actually hurts on Intel. Can your Geils do 444 1:1 4-4-4 or similar?

The geil's did cas4 at those speed iirc on the ds3 but not on the p5w dh. Atleast haven't gotten them there yet. Board is stock even stock tim, but tomorrow I'm trying to get it down abit. 2k3 copy waza and maxmem should get me abit lower at the same settings then xp sp2 diagnostic mode and real time + affinity I hope. I got most of my tips from this forum lol but it's confusing sometimes because some things which people say should work don't do much for me and some things people say should not work do work.. like affinity.

Really blows one of my vx sticks is buggerd

Can't play with you people yet, even with a more normal ram speed. I hate having these sticks and getting them stable at their rated speeds

Edit: strange my imageshack link didn't work so I had to use the attachment system for the first time in my life rofl.... the windows didn't mention any size resistriction but it does mess up the page layout here, do I need to resize it?

Got this QuadGT for 3 days now, this 1066strap is really difficult on divider, the mem also only manage 1175 at the moment, but this is my best so far, greate performance on this Abit

The latency over 450fsb on 4:5 (4-4-4-10) is under 40ns.... getting real high vdimm (2.425v+)

1066 strap was verrryy helpful.... i got 12.609 mostly, and only once 12.594
boot at 400 CL4-4-4-4-4-8-10-8-10, change the subtimings with memset, and then clockgened to 444mhz...

With this bios, beta .10 it craps out on 1150mhz w thight timings and 1175mhz w relaxed timings, the 1066 strap delivers, but at a price
Hope for 1333 strap for higher overclock, next bios after Cebit......maybe...

EDIT: ..also need high vdimm +2.4v for this.

    ---cheers---

Nice work guys. Real interesting 4:5 result.

I finally got a chance to run with a Commando yesterday. First attempt netted 12.547 at only about 3990MHz without the subtimings even being touched (we're talking tRFC 42 etc. ) Certainly much faster than i975X I must concede.

And then...the board started melting for no reason. First Commando DOA, second one died completely unmodded and not even being pushed at all. I see plenty of you guys are having success with it, but it seems like its quality is just too poor and its FETs aren't rated for sufficiently high current. I'm tired of it, it's just a joke. The worst part is that it was great for the hour or so it was running. I would've loved to do serious benching with it, but its no good dead.

Going to try a Biostar next, seems like the only other choice for good 2:3 action. If it ends up having a -90C bug, I'll have to live with it.

    Sorry to hear about that

With the Biostar, you just need to adjust bios setting prior to run it under let's say -100C. Best is to set bios parameters @-60C and then it should be okay.

Ah, I see. Having trouble locating any place selling em here...but I'll see.

Btw, I got memset 3.0. It didn't seem to do anything. I tried setting some timings and it didn't change anything, and opening it a second time showed every setting blank except the last few at 15? It seemed to me that only BIOS set worked. But I didn't get a chance to run with tight subs BIOS set.

Hehe, you belong a notch above me...thats nearly 3MHz slower than my 1:1 result. So I take it you do not use Memset either?

    If only I got a screenie of my 12.547 at 3990MHz... :-/

I'll get it again though, and still faster, that I can assure you of.

FWIW, I scored 12.565 @ 10x400 on the 680i the other night with 2x512mb fatties @ 940Mhz, 4-3-2-4, 1T...Too bad everything locked up as I was saving the screenie. My USB stuff still doesn't work correctly....Oh, well! I guess it's time to throw the board under the evap
