    Thanks for this info kunaak

Yes 680i kan give a lot off headache.

I will test some more, now my system is stable.

What you say abought 8800gtx take power,
    i find true.
It was easyer to oc when a had my xfx7800.

I use 0302 the only bios that i feel give my control.

Look at this thread for evga think they will come
with some solution abought 680i and quad fbs.
There board has more problem with max around 300 fbs for quad.

I was hoping this would do the trick but well see.
Folding at 4ghz seems easy enough I played GRAW for 35 minutes too while folding without issue..and yes the vCore is correct

    Sdumper nice score.
Rising multiper is no problem on quad if you have god cooling.

I been folllow the quad and fsb problem for a long time now.

Yoxxy: 479x 6 on a quad is almost to good to be true.
I dont say that is not true, but i have never seen someone
with that high fsb on quad(680i)

Here is the thread by shamino.
    http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=112265

Hope someone will test the plus version of this board with quad.
I dont think asus have fix the GTL Reference Voltage for plus.

Evga is working on this here what JacobF wrote.
    Quote:
No the P25 was not intended to the be the fix! We still need to completely test 100% the fix that we do have for Kentsfield and close to 400MHz FSB's, early results are very promising. I'm sorry that I do not have more details at this time.

Have seen a volt mod for GTL Reference Voltage think it was for the bad axe.
Dont rember where i did see it.

Think evga is coming with some solutions with bios
    I am waiting for that.
If asus now abought this or if they are going to do something abought it i dont now.
Asus support is not the best, when it come to OC.

If anyone have some more uppdate abought quad and fsb.
    I'`ll bee happy.

Look at the compiling date : only yesterday

So yes, they are most certainly beta updates... and I don't think they are ready yet to release them, as I can now indeed confirm that nothing has changed for vcore issues.

From 300FSB upwards, 1.36V is the max. vcore I get Now I'm testing for max fsb on lower multi's.

With QX6700 I'll try and test later tonight, but my guess is nothing much has changed. Max multi I could set with my quad was 13, on 14 it wouldn't boot. Combine that with a max fsb of about 300 (otherwise you can't get decent vcore), and even 300x13 wouldn't boot here. So the options are limited at the moment. Others seem to have more luck and get up to 15 multi on quads, so your mileage may vary.

Put the 0803 beta bios on my webspace for a day or two, find it here

Bios does nothing new for me, but might for you. I found it to be quite safe, you use it at your own risc of course.

I guess I have here one of the "worse" 680i boards, as OC'ing on this board is about the worst experience I ever had. I can't even surpass 350FSB any more with E6700 (any multi), and vcore is limited to 1.36V above 300FSB.

I don't want to hijack your thread Kunaak, so if I have to start a new one, just say so

    Thanks alot for this post!
If it wasen't for you kunaak i would never have tried:

    SB core = 1.70v
    CPU VTT=1.62v
    DDR2 TERM=1.18v
    NB CORE=1.76v

And i was actually able to boot my 26B E6600 at 3.6 ghz, now i'll try to get it stable for 10 hours in orthos.

On the Quad side of things:

I've been fighting with a Q6600, 4GB Corsair XMS PC6400C4, and at first a P5B Dlx and now a P5N32-E. I've run the memory at DDR2-900 for hours in Memtest, no problem. I couldn't get either board P95 stable over 320mhz though. I don't know if it's in the proc or what, but I'm going nuts. The other problem is I've gotta use 64-bit Windows for this customer, and I think opening up the extra registers lowers my clocking.

I'm going to go back over this thread when I get back to work on it later, and see if I can make any headway. I'd love to see a 400+ FSB and 3.2ghz, that's what I've wanted all along for this customer. It's a pain when I've almost got my e6300 100% OC'd, and I can't budge this Q6600

Are there still troubles with Q6600?
...i mean with the last bios's...
I use 0903 coz it is the best one for my board...it looks like there is FSB Hole 400-425 and 50% stability on 412,5 ... , right at the strap.
is there any possibility to be quit this FSB Hole with newer bios's?

Those are insane voltages mate, I don't hink your board will live long unless you have amasing cooling on the chipsets and PWM area
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
