I know it's an older game, but MoH:Spearhead works fine on my system with 32 bit vista(it worked on 64 bit too). I could also play it from within vista, when the game was installed on my win xp drive. I have an x800, X2 4400 s939, asus a8v deluxe (via chipset), and 1GB ram with a couple of raptors.

MohaaSpearhead! First game I bought when I got into computers along with BF 1942. That was like 5 years ago. 3Dmarks 05 works too I got half the score I'm used to getting(but that's a few months ago). Steam works for me as well in 32bit Vista.

Yes it does, you just have to run it in compatibility mode.

    Check this out: http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.ph...ist#Virtual_PC

Also, CS:S runs 10fps faster in Vista on my rig, and CoH runs at 55fps (full settings, including AAx4, 1920x1200 rez) compared to a paultry 13fps in XP (Mixed between High and Medium settings, no AA, and my GPU OC'd through control panel). So far, Vista is winning me over, but this is far from conclusive, and I don't have anything to show for all of ya, just my word. I wish I had more time for bench sessions, but I'd rather not waste hours just for a few bar graphs...sry.

I can get the Single-Player to work but the Multi-Player client gets shut down by Vista on joining server.

Done all the updates plus tried running as Admin

Not all games show up in the games menu. Current BF2142 isn't showing up in it. And CS is shown as Half Life 2, lol. Supreme Commander, and CoH show up great, I think they are made for windows games. I don't know if this is the ultimate factor to get in the games menu, but I have a hunch it's an important one.

so far on my system it dosnt but as i asked earlier it seems that to some it does so it might be one of my many BETA drivers that are mixing in.

CSS to me shows up fine and separately to HL2. It seems that running games on Vista is not an exact science, yet.

Agreed. I wonder...when I choose to install CS, I choose not to have a desktop shortcut, maybe this is why CS doesn't show up in the Games.

I done the add to desktop for RoboBlitz but it aint coming up, i checked the options and i ticked the "List the most recently played games" so that might be the way they are added.

Just read the help for Games Folder, i never use to do that on XP lol

If you just drag the shortcut into the games folder or the game exe it self it will add it, if Game Folder has no info about the game it wont display much but in case of CSS it should display everything. Try adding it manually and download info for it see if it all works.

You should list whether the game has been tested on x64 or x86:
(x64) means that I have tested the game on the 64 bit edition of the Vista OS
EVE Online (Ultimate x64) - works fine, doesn't show in games folder
FarCry (Ultimate x64) - both 32 bit and 64 bit edition (64 bit patch) of the game works and shows in games folder
X3 Reunion (Ultimate x64) - works well, shows in games folder
Serious Sam 2 (Ultimate x64) - works well, doesn't show in games folder
Rainbow Six Vegas (Ultimate x64) - works as well as a bad console port can, doesn't show in games folder
Half Life 2 (Ultimate x64) - even better than XP? Shows in games folder, although steam does not...
Counter Strike Source (Ultimate x64) - works well, shows in games folder but the rest of my steam collection don't show up.
Company of Heroes - verify it works under 64 bit and that it displays in games folder, works very well!

In general all games get some sort of FPS boost, or at least feel smoother. Don't ask me for fraps score because I dont have XP installed and can't do a real comparison.

More as I install them tbh, FYI Microsoft should add the ability to add a game to their database...

thanks, also i tried running FRAPS but even the latest version dosnt want to load up on Vista which makes FPS measuring almost impossible, for now.

Most people in these forums are running 64bit and as MS requier's all new games to have full support for 64bit i will only add "X86 ONLY" if the game works only under 32bit.

If you can add to this thread as well that would be great:

I'm guessing Tray Tools doesn't work? There is a framerate counter in there.

i was just on my way to install it lol

    EDIT:

OK latest version install fine but it is not allowed to load because its drivers are unsigned. This is an easy fix i am sure Ray will make it Vista compatible with next release.
