Mine wouldn't hit CL3 at all, but I finally got 4-4-4-10 1T at 425mhz working. Supposedly this is a problem with the chipset's latencies, and should be fixed in a BIOS update.

Amazingly, 8800 GTXs don't seem bandwidth limited on 8x. Anandtech even has the P5N-e beating the Striker in a few tests.

I hit 3ghz mark yesterday prime stable 10hrs, anyone have an idea why I had to set the NB Voltage up to 1.5....to get it to boot into windows? I know my board undervolts terribly, is this safe though? I threw a box fan on like Letstat said, keeping my mobo @ 32-35c. and the CPU @ 48C-50C under load.

Trice I wanted to ask if maybe you could save a copy of your bios for me. I know it's the same ver. I just wanted to try it for kicks.

Sure but its nothing crazy lol. I just upped the NB to 1.5, vDIMM to 2.2-3 and thats about it. Timings are 4-4-4-12 then rest are AUTO.

How/What do I need to save my BIOS within the BIOS?

Which fan are you using for NB? Can you give me the link please?
That NB is freaking hot ..... SB also needs heatsink +fan ....

there is another small review on this board,
    http://techgage.com/article/asus_p5n-e_sli/1

Unfortunately the reviewer isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

I look at it this way. All C2D (minus the X6800) has a stock FSB of 1066. On a 1:1 ratio, that would make your ram DDR2-1066 or PC2-8500. This is a common memory speed now, and -should- work since many people like running a 1:1. As the state of the BIOS stands, buying an enthusiast kit of ram would be a complete waste because you cannot overclock it to your liking.
1:1 ratio with a quad pumped FSB?

X6800 also has an fsb of 1066mhz.
and PC2-8500 just to get 1:1 Lol has this guy been living under a rock
good luck getting some credebility for your tech site

EDIT: could any of people owning a P5N-E SLI check out for me if the Zalman ZM NB47J would fit on the SB? since ASUS has holes in the PCB but no heatsink

Looks like it may fit. I checked it has 4 holes, that HSF however; doesn't have any holes. I guess you need to mount it with a bracket hole deal?

Btw, wtf is up with my setup lol. It passes prime for 10hrs, and I ran it another 8hrs overnight but yet... Rainbow Six Vegas Froze on me after 2hrs of gaming online and I got a solid beep sound. To follow that, I was watching a DVD movie when i rebooted and the PC froze with a looping sound -.-.

    Mobo 33-34c Idle 40C Load

    I defraged, checkdsk, any suggestions?

i just got through reading that review. the guy is clearly blind saying there isn't a floppy connector when there is one. its just not in the usual place.

well; still no luck geting this motherboard in australia; maybe i'm supposed to get an opty/4600x2? [but c2d gits higher scores and oc's better ]...but there will be a ddr3 mobo coming out later this year...and a g90...and in 2008 there will be another new mobo with integrated mem controller cpu...and in 2009???????
So thats a new mobo every year if you want the latest tidbits.

we have p5n32-e available but i dont want to give up my upside down lianli...so i guess i just have to wait...more boards without heat pipes please....because i'm thinking the p5n32-e is the only one i can get NOW, but i'd have to replace the sinks with non hpipe ones....mm the nb will be very tight with the cpu cooler right next to it...i spose water blocks wood work cos they are smaller...a pain inda ass compared to p5n-e

Thats my BIOS, when I saved it, I wasnt asked to save it with an extension, so I hope that works. I have RAID so keep that in mind as well, but beyond that its nothing special.

the giga-byte board isn't even officially released yet. no reference to be found online and no word on giga-byte's own website.

Would an E6300 overclock very well on this board?

Well I just ordered one for £74 all in ($145)

I'm not sure if it was in stock or not though, I guess I'll find out. Another place was showing 5th Jan as in stock date.

Just to confirm, this board definetly has the fully independant fsb/memory setup like its big brother 680i?

Depends what else you have mainly the memory. It does good fsb apparently, so basically yes..

I'd personally avoid nForce6 for the time being, until a new revision is released. All the problems with 680i (and 650i to some extent) seem more hardware than BIOS related, thus a revision is in order to actually bring stability to nForce6, IMO.

I don't think it's a bad chipset at all, but it's just too hit and miss for my tastes right now. Hopefully the abit IN9-32X will buck the bad trends of the eVGA 680i board, and maybe 650i boards from other manufacturers will improve on memory clocking, board layout, overall stability, etc.

Good luck to all of those with nForce6 boards right now. Not to sound condescending or anything; I really wish you luck with your overclocking endeavors on it. Personally I'll wait to see what R600 has to offer, or if nForce6 improves, before sinking $250 into a high end board, or even $130-140 into a midrange board like this. 975x all the way right now, though.
