    80% ram overclock!!!

had a stick of pc2100 laying around (one 512), so i dropped it in the infinity to test, gave it some volts (3.2 :P)... and got 240mhz in windows, 260mhz posts. here's a pic

edit: i didn't bother playing with timings, just set the 4s so i wouldnt have to mess with them later.. itused bh-75 ram from winbond.

2.0-4-4....ouch, that's a hit to the old bandwidth if I've ever seen it. Nice overclock, but definatly try dropping those timings at say 200mhz and see how tight you can get em. Obviously try for 2-2-2, but don't be afraid to try different combinations, like 2-3-2, 2-2-3, 3-2-2, 3-3-2, 2.5-2-2, etc.

(edit: Winbond BH-75...7.5ns chips. If they're like BH6, they should do way past their rated timings and speeds, as you're sort of already proved. Gotta love Winbond.)

Its funny when people push old stuff with new cooling/equipment to compliment it how fast some of it can go

honestly, i didnt bother chaning them, cause i only wanted to spend about half an hour ocing them. i have no doubt that 2-3-3-10 is possible with them, maybe even 2-2-2-10. its fun to see what old hardware can do . i tossed my tccd back in now and dont feel like changing all the settings agian, so maybe i'll oc them further another time. maybe doubling it is possible on an a64 . its not everyday that you see somebody doubling their ram's speed

A good example of that is original bh5 being thrown into a DFI NF4 mobo and watching it hit new heights. Its almost like having new ram.

Put a couple of sticks of PC2700 in an A64 rig and they start to think that they are actually PC3500 sticks.

I had two sticks of Mushkin 256MB PC2400 myself, both were Memtest stable at 200MHz 3-2-2-11 3v.

Does anyone know where could I buy one of these memories with BH-75?

    (in germany :P)

Or how to identify Ram Modules with BH-75 (serial number and modell and so)

    My Personal Records:

    Infineon BH-6 (1x256MB) at 290MHz [2-2-2-5] at 4.0V // CPU-Z
    // PIC
    Infineon BH-6 (2x256MB) at 270MHz [2-2-2-5] at 3.63V // PIC // BENCH 1 // BENCH 2
    Kreton UTT (1x512MB) at 270MHz at 3.35V [2-2-2-5] // CPU-Z // PIC
    Infineon BH-6 (4x256MB) at 270MHz at 3.8V [2-2-2-5] // CPU-Z // BENCHMARKS

go looking at chips in on ram in REALLY OLD ddr machines. its really not worth buying nowdays though, it ocs ok and all, but there is much better stuff out there (for cheap too) and it wouldnt be worth your trouble to find it.

I mean, i bought 6x256MB Infineon with BH-6 PC2700, each 256MB for 20dlls or so. If a Stick of 256MB of BH-75 costs i dunno... ~10dlls then its quite cheap . Ebay rulz guys
