    small cascade

well this is to be a smal, fiable cascade, not an extreme one.
i'll try some blends becouse i want low pressures, i dont want hot compressores, oil problems, extreme condensation, etc, the temps i want will be -70 to -80 load

    for extreme i'll start a 3stager soon

it will use an nl11f from an promy and an cl8.5 from an vapochill ls

this pic is when i put everything together to get the sise of the box, it will be
    53x37cm and 30cm tall.

suction after soldering, before be cleaned

hx not best looking one but who cares? it will be insulated

co2 on the house for some testing's

    probes, auto shut-down, pressure reading

    more soon

Yeah, R507 for first I would use, CO2 + propane for II stage (propane will flush dry ice from evap)

R23 would be the best refrigerant for the temps you want.

Luke co2 is one of the worst gases for refrigeration when your goal is coldest as possible,as you know dry ice forms at way to warm of a temp, you can continue this battle by different methods but by switching to another gas is a much better choice ,especially if you want to advance your knowledge and temperature scale further down the negative scale ----C.
    The Laws of Thermodynamics say:

Zeroth Law: "You must play the game."
    First Law: "You can't win."
Second Law: "You can't break even."
Third Law: "You can't quit the game."

Do you wanna Play Thermodynamics ???????? I forgot "you must"

    agreed, or perhaps r170 (ethane)

Although Overklokk build a small r290/r1150 gpu cascade once with a Danfoss FR10a and a FR11B and that seemed to work ok. Still the pressures of r1150 for such a small compressor probably isn't the best idea.

I know that wdrzal, Ricky has written, that he will do some test with co2, so my advice is to use R290 with CO2, that will help with dry ice problem

For sure R23 is really good refrigerant, I think the one of the best with ethane in -90*C refrigerants range. Next jump is ethylene...

dabit made such an HX a couple of years ago, not sure if he finally used it on his 210K project.
I tried to make one like this 1 1/2y ago but my brazing skills where not so good

9kg of R508B cost almost 3700€ here. I don't know why its so expensive, but I think thats too much money for only some gas...

OT @ tim-: could you please PM me some refrigerant prices from sweden if you know them (R404A, R507, R402A etc..)? Refrigerant is insane expensive in norway It's like 1600 euros for 12 kg of R404A.. So if the prices are better in sweden I might go there and buy some
    Asus P5K, C2D E8400, Ati HD4870, 2x2GB Mushkin PC-8500.
