    Another E6300 100 % OCed under AIR...

    Finally, after doing the VDimm-Mod because of my bad Microns I got 101,6 % under AIR...

    CPU: E6300 @ 3,75 GHz with 1,45 V

    Cooling: Thermaltake Big Typhoon

    Board: Asus P5B Deluxe (BIOS: 0711) with VDimm-Mod (Thanx to Hikookie )

    RAM: 2 x 512 MB Muskins XP2 PC6400 @ 5-4-4-15 with 2,75 V

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=130327

    DICE will come soon...

    Nice one That NB fan placement looks somehow odd hehe

    What are you talking about ?

    What last 4 pins? What 8 phase power port?

    CPUs won't boot without the 4 pin PSU connector.....

    @fr3ak: max is about 1,7 V - enough to do a DICE-shot

    @hot: I use only the 4-pin connector, works good, System is 500x7 rockstable...

    On the bottom left you can see that the board has 8phase power, but only a stuwi olny uses a 4pin connector instead of a 8pin one.

    Take that cover off the NB it will help with the cooling of it. And if you haven't replace the thermal paste under there.

    BTW Nice OC

    Eh?

    I'm not sure why would you folks think 8pin EATX12V means a board has 8 phase PWM or that 4pins = 4 phase?

    P5B Deluxe is 8 phase no matter how many EATX12V connectors you plug into it...
    You were not supposed to see this.

    Yup just like the P5W-Deluxe is 8 phase as well and only has 1 4-pin connector.

    I personally didn't hook the second cable up until someone said try it. I truely haven't noticed a difference at all on stability or overclockability. I might just disconnect it so I can clean cables up going that way.

    The extra 4 pins were originally designed for dual socket Intel boards, to thus balance the current draw over 8 cables instead of four.

    Lol, it has nothing to do with 8 phase power.

    8 phase power has 8 mosfets for voltage regulation of the power going into the board.

    4 or 8 pin power supply has nothing to do with it!

    Nothing special...

    @deathman20: god idea...

    The problem is, I need new RAM badly, CPU is not really the limit...

    I'd love to know a program that uses the CPU that much. Hottest program I found was Orthos, and that reads over 3-4C warmer then other programs use underload.

    Thats ~80% loaded with TAT (of course may vary slightly from system to system). If an actual program besides a stress tester can actually put that much heat off of the CPU as TAT does under load show me I'd love to try it, let alone wonder what it is.
